Hercules is coming back. Or actually is back now. At any rate, Hercules didn’t stay dead/gone for too long. What I mean is during the end of the Dark Reign story line, Hercules had his own where he was fighting some other gods and ended up being sent to this alternate Earth that supposedly closed up and killed him. Taking over for him is Amadeus Cho, his best friend who is the 7th smartest person on the planet.
A new Prince of Power, for 4 issues. What’s the deal with that? I’ve seen some short term deaths of heroes but I think this is the shortest of them all, at least ranks up there with the shortest. Sad thing though is nothing really happens in the 4 issues of Prince of Power issues. I was looking forward to seeing how Amadeus was going to find a way to get Hercules back but I was thinking that these 4 issues was just going to have him prove that Hercules was still alive. At the end he would have to go into another set of issues with another story line of him somehow getting Hercules back. Instead this all happens in the 4 issues of Prince of Power.
Right off the start it’s said that Hercules is on some other Earth that if Amadeus could get the power of a god he would be able to bring Hercules back. So at the end of issue 1 Amadeus does start a fight with Thor, which is actually the only good part of these 4 issues. Normally Thor is shown as this ultimate good guy that does no wrong, he won’t even insult anyone by calling them names or anything. That’s the normal Thor, this is not the Thor in Prince of Power. This Thor is one that openly says he hate Amadeus and actually fights Amadeus and hurts him. He’s arrogant and seems a little high on himself, but it makes him more realistic than just some guy with a lot of power being uber nice.
Anyways, Amadeus does some fighting with another god who is out to get the power to become a god. Didn’t get this part since he is already a god but anyways that’s what he does. By the end Hercules is back, then he’s gone and gives a warning of some approaching doom. I also liked how Delphyne in these issues. She’s green and she’s tough, she also has a sword. Those right there makes for a great character in my thoughts.
