Which Avengers Infinity War should you buy, check out the differences here

Planning on getting the Avengers: Infinity War movie that comes out today but want to get the best deal or the coolest gimmick? Well, let me help you out a little and tell you what the main stores have and what the movie costs.

Here are the special features Marvel revealed are included with Avengers: Infinity War on Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray:

  • Strange Alchemy
  • The Mad Titan
  • Beyond the Battle: Titan
  • Beyond the Battle: Wakanda
  • Deleted and Extended Scenes
  • Gag Reel
  • Audio Commentary (approx. 149 min.) by Anthony and Joe Russo, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely

Best Buy:

Exclusive: “SteelBook”

They have their brand of “SteelBook” case for the movie but only for the 4K Ultra HD Blu Ray/ Blu Ray. Most, not all, of the time Best Buy has the “SteelBook” in both the 4K and the regular Blu Ray or they will have it for the regular Blu Ray only. Though on occasion, usually that occasion is when it’s a movie that will bring in a lot of people to buy, the only make the 4K version “SteelBook”. That’s what they did here and the price is high at $34.99 and the reason why I won’t get it.

Good: the “SteelBook” art is cool with Thanos on the cover that when opens up it’s a wrap around with the Earth in the background and having 7 of the Avengers on the insider art. Includes the digital copy and bonus features.

Bad: Price is $34.99 and it is only offered for the bundled version of 4K/Blu Ray. If you have no 4K TV or player, then compared to the regular Blu Ray edition, you are paying $12 extra for just the “SteelBook” case and a disc you won’t use. Now I suppose you could resell the 4K disc for $12 and get your money back so you ca have the case and not spend that but is it worth it?

Target

Exclusive: Funko Pop Iron Man red metallic bundle

Target is getting more and more of the items of Funko and that now includes the Avengers movie. However, there’s a catch to getting this bundle. You have to have the Target credit card, the REDcard. The Pop comes in both the Blu Ray and the 4K Ultra Blu Ray versions. Each price is different and not cheap.

Good: includes the metallic Funko Pop Iron Man and is offered with the two different versions where you are not forced to buy one you don’t want or need to get the extra. The cost of them is not overly bad but what makes it good is that when you compare the cost of just the movie, Blu Ray and 4K, and the cost of a Pop by themselves their prices are the same. So the Pop would cost roughly $10-$15 new at a store (if you can find), and the cost of the Blu Ray is $22.99, 4K is  $29.99. So, if you did want both and you added the prices you get what Target is charging and they are the same, no added-on cost.

Also, the 4K version offers a different cover artwork that’s pretty cool. Includes the digital copy and bonus features.

Bad: Must be a Target REDcard member. No Target credit card, no Avengers: Infinity War/Funko Pop bundle.  Also, the cover art for the regular Blu Ray bundle is the same as for the regular Blu Ray. Why the 4K gets different art while the Blu Ray does not is a mystery and one that makes the Blu Ray bundle a little sad.

Walmart:

Exclusive: ?

I put the question mark there because their version of exclusive is taking away features. This offers you basically nothing.

Good: nothing

Bad: everything. They removed the DVD and Digital Copy from the movie so all you get is the Blu Ray. It says it has a collectable package but even that is just the common art cover but with the “DVD + Digital Copy” on the banner removed where all it now says is Blu-Ray. Even the price isn’t any better at $19.96. Why pay $20 for just the Blu Ray when you can pay $23 and get a Digital Copy?

Commons all stores will have:

Blu Ray

Good: price is better than the “SteelBook” at $22.99 and includes the digital copy and bonus features.

Bad: artwork is the exact same as all other stores for the regular copy and includes nothing else.

4K UltraHD Blu Ray

Good: Includes Blu Ray and digital copy and bonus features.
