I bought a TiVo 80hr DVR about 3 months ago and I must say that this is the greatest innovation in Television since color. If you have never experienced TiVo you have to check this out. It completely changes the way you watch TV.
Any thought?
Agree?
Hate TiVo?

i dont own a TiVo but i agree that they are great. i dont watch alot of TV so if i did own one it would go to waste.
a while ago i read an article about "how VCRs prove that we are getting lazy and dependant on TV"
i wish i still had it, it really opened my eyes. now i see TV as the "poor man's play" or the "lazy man's book"
but it would be nice to tape Adult Swim every night.

The 40 hr will do just fine. The only reason to get the 80 hr is if you plan on recording a lot at one time or if you want to save programs you've recorded for lengthy periods. I recommend the TiVo brand DVRs. They both have 50 dollar rebates right now. If you have Direct TV, they also offer a DVR. There are a few DVR/DVD-Recorders out there that are way too pricey for what they're worth.

You friends are telling you to sell it?!?!?!?!?!? I guarantee in about 2 weeks your friends will be heading out to Best Buy to pick one up.
The setup is extremely easy. They guide you through everything. Make sure you can run a phone line to it, if you can't then you'll have to pick up a wireless phone jack. Walmart has them for about $65. If you have a wireless network set up at your place let me know and I can tell you how to make TiVo even better.
Trust me, you will love this thing!
