This really is, despite what many will tell you, throwing your vote away. It is impossible for Nader to get more than a few % of the entire popular vote. He really shouldn't even be considered a factor in anyone's decision.
Saying that...It is your right to vote for whomever you choose. So go ahead and throw it away. :)

I find it interesting to see the post of the young. It has been said if you are not a Democrat when you are young you don't have a heart and if you aren't a Republican when you are old you don't have a brain. How is Kerry going to pay for all of his promises-- take the money from the ones of us that have worked hard all our lives to get it. Kerry promises everything to everyone just for the vote. Go Bush!

kerry's promises will cost 2.1 trillion
bush just spent 7 trillion and that's ok? but it's not ok for kerry to spend 2.1 trillion to give people health care??
and kerry will have a republican congress, so can't spend too much...not like free-spending bush with a republican congress

I find it interesting to see the post of the old. Here's what I don't understand Old Guy, you are defending a president that has issued tax cuts for the rich and Big Corporations, while claiming that Kerry would take money from those that have worked hard all of their lives to get it. Maybe you are one of the few rich people that benefited from Bush's tax cut, or maybe not, but how do you think Bush is going to finance the huge deficit he’s created, as well as the ever increasing cost of the war? Kerry’s plan to roll back the tax cuts for the rich and to close the tax loopholes for Big Corporations will ensure that our financial burden will be better shared by everyone. You question how Kerry is going to pay for all of his promises as if Bush’s fiscal policy makes any sense. Do you think Bush has a clearly defined fiscal policy for how he is a going to finance our billion-dollar deficit, the largest budget deficit in U.S. history, as well as all of his other promises? If you do I would love to hear it. Please keep in mind when Bush took office, he inherited a nearly $300 billion dollar budget surplus, which in four short years he has turned into a $400 billion dollar and counting budget deficit. So if you’re so concerned about having your hard earned money taken away from you, don’t forget who created our record setting Budget Deficit, and put us in our current state of financial difficulty. I believe in accountability, and Bush and his cabinet should be held accountable for what has happened to our economy, to our unemployment rate, to our soldiers in Iraq, to our environment, and on and on.
Also, I just wanted to respond quickly to your comment:
“It has been said if you are not a Democrat when you are young you don't have a heart and if you aren't a Republican when you are old you don't have a brain.”
Whoever originally said this clearly does not have a brain, and I question those that actually repeat it.

So true...is the truth. Bush has cost us dearly and many are so blinded by his smoke and guns to see the truth. Don't forget his 'funny' math which is why we now have such a big deficit. Not to mention the $300 tax check some folk got the fall of 2001, many didn't get a check because we had to pay for the war. The $300 check caused many headaches for tax preparers as did last fall's pre child tax credit checks. Not to mention, Reganomics of his fathers days. The Repubilcans has cost the average citizen lots of tax deductions and jobs. When folk are broke and out of work or working 2 to 3 jobs, they usually aren't happy with the current government.

I know a lot of people that bet on the World Series and games leading up to the World Series. Do you think people are gambling on the presidential election?
I don't gamble (because I'm a cheap bastard, like the rest of you free-screening folks probably are), but if I did, I'd put my Monopoly money on Kerry.
In 2000, Al Gore got the most popular votes, but Bush got more electoral votes. So overall, by percentage of citizens, not just politicians, most of American wanted Gore.
Gore won despite being boring, uncharasmatic (often compared to a robot) and using words like "lockbox" that just sounded silly. And going into the race we didn't have any experience of either man as president, only Gore as V.P.
I think after four long years of knowing how Bush does things, Kerry will definately win. He's a more interesting candidate than Gore, and Bush's term is riddled with records that begin with "Worst" and end with ".. in U.S. History." He had protests at his inauguration and had suspicious ties to the state that won him the election. Bush has had more protests against him than any other person in history, even more that Hitler, or Ashlee Simpson.
We should consider that protesting is more common now than in the '40s or '50s, but there is more apathy than in the '60s or '70s.
My friend told me that the outcome of Washington Redskins home football games has correctly predicted the winner of every U.S. presidential election since 1936.
"The Washington Redskins have proved to be a time-tested election predictor. In the previous 15 elections, if the Washington Redskins have lost their last home game prior to the election, the incumbent party has lost the White House. When they have won, the incumbent has stayed in power.
This election year, that deciding game takes place on Sunday, October 31 ... vs. Green Bay.
Go Pack!!! (http://www.snopes.com/sports/football/election.asp) "
So don't waste your time staying up late on Super Tuesday to see who won. Just watch the game Sunday and hope the cheeseheads stick it to them.
Redskins are 2-4 while Packers are 3-4. (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/standings)
On Espn.com, 7 out of 8 experts predict Green Bay will win. (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/features/talent)
There you go.

I'm really not that political, but this is funny too...
From: http://www.livejournal.com/users/soultoad/302421.html
My top ten favorite bush quotes, in no particular order…. (my commentary in
parenthesis)
10) "As you know, we don't have relationships with Iran. I mean, that's —
ever since the late '70s, we have no contacts with them, and we've totally
sanctioned them. In other words, there's no sanctions — you can't — we're
out of sanctions." —George W. Bush, Annandale, Va, Aug. 9, 2004 ('honey,
we're out of sanctions AGAIN!?')
9) "Tribal sovereignty means that; it's sovereign. I mean, you're a — you've
been given sovereignty, and you're viewed as a sovereign entity. And
therefore the relationship between the federal government and tribes is one
between sovereign entities." —George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Aug. 6, 2004
(SPEECHLESS.)
"I want to thank the astronauts who are with us, the courageous spacial
entrepreneurs who set such a wonderful example for the young of our
country." —George W. Bush, Washington, D.C. Jan. 14, 2004 ('I wanna be a
spacial entrepeneur…')
7)"[W]e've had leaks out of the administrative branch, had leaks out of the
legislative branch, and out of the executive branch and the legislative
branch, and I've spoken out consistently against them, and I want to know
who the leakers are." —George W. Bush, Chicago, Sept. 30, 2003 (man, I hate
a leaky administrative branch…)
6)"I'm also not very analytical. You know I don't spend a lot of time
thinking about myself, about why I do things." —George W. Bush, aboard Air
Force One, June 4, 2003 (be afraid, be very afraid.)
5)"I think war is a dangerous place." —George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., May
7, 2003 (speechless again.)
4)"We actually misnamed the war on terror, it ought to be the struggle
against ideological extremists who do not believe in free societies who
happen to use terror as a weapon to try to shake the conscience of the free
world." --George W. Bush, Unity: Journalists of Color convention, Aug 31st,
2004 (doesn't really roll off the tongue, does it?)
3)"Sometimes, Washington is one of these towns where the person — people who
think they've got the sharp elbow is the most effective person." —George W.
Bush, New Orleans, Dec. 3, 2002 (man, I hate the sharp elbow…)
2) "I'm the commander — see, I don't need to explain — I do not need to
explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being
president." —George W. Bush, as quoted in Bob Woodward's "Bush at War"
(personal terror alert is now at red…)
1)"Natural gas is hemispheric. I like to call it hemispheric in nature
because it is a product that we can find in our neighborhoods." —George W.
Bush, Dec. 20, 2000 (yeah…I have no idea either….)

My goodness Wolfe, did I hit a nerve. Why is it that the left can't have a discussion without rampant emotions. By your statements, I would guess you are just getting starting int he busines world and probably pay on the low end of the tax burden. I don't argue some of your statements. I actually believe government is out of control and far away from what our forefathers pruposed it to be. Neither party tells the truth. Each takes the numbers and makes them sound the way that most benefits them. The statement you make about Bush taking a surplus and making it a deficit is a very good example. It simply matters which accounting method you want to choose to believe. If you view from the left it was a surplus, if you view from the right it really never was a surplus. Who really knows. I have a personal beef with what Kerry did when he came back from Vietnam. You can't understand the importance of this since I know you weren't there and you probably have no direct ties to it that would make his actions relevant to you. They are to me. While I will vote for Bush because I am a Hawk, believe in strong military and believe Bush will not waver on protecting this country, I really like more of the Libertarian policies more than any other. In closing, the only purpose of government now is to support itself and to keep people in high paying positions that have never worked a real job a single day in their life. And ps. I do make a lot of money that I don't want to give up just because I have to support someone that can't support themselves. Life is another old saying--Survival of the fittest. Have a good vote Wolfe.

I agree the government is out of control; but I don't think it is because we have drifted to far from what the fore fathers had in mind. I think it is the opposite. We are trying way too hard to stick to what they put in place. Granted at the time it was what was needed. But this is hundreds of years later and it is badly out-dated. They had no clue at the time that in the future women could vote and be able to support a family on their own, that slavery wouldn't be around forever, or that nuclear weapons could exist. There are still some very good foundations that they put in place; but we need to build up from that not cling to it afraid of change.

The government itself is not out of control, but the people we elected to represent us. For the greater good of the people, they still allow (in one state) a law on the books making interracial marriage illegal, and worry about two people of the same sex marrying when our country is still at war.
Pandora is right - just think, (sorry for all the gun fans) if people had the right to bear arms - every city in the country would be like the Wild West. You would be gun down just for looking at someone the wrong way, not that that doesn't happen now, but ...

I just got my peachy "I'm a Georgia Voter" sticker. The whole process took less than 20 minutes, and there were only 12 people ahead of us, but poll workers told us that about 500 people came through between 7 and 12 this morning. In all my years of voting, I've never had to wait more than an hour to cast a ballot, but I was totally willing to today. I brought provisions--a book, a newspaper, water, and leftover Halloween candy, plus a chair in the car. I felt like I was packed up and ready to go to war.

ok, I know there are some people that say they hate this country, want to leave and all that. But, just because we voice our distaste for a lot of things that this country now stands for and a lot of things our leader is doing on our behalf, doesn't mean we want to leave. Everyone immediately jumps to assume that we want to leave and we think some other country is better. It's really annoying. I love this country. The only way I would go to another country is if I had a vacation home somewhere else. When did it become not OK to voice our opinion? When did Republicans start branding us as anti-American because we don't support the person that we ourselves did not elect? Why when we say something specific like "our educational system sucks" do the Republicans say "Leave the fuckin' country then."
I'm seriously getting sick of it. We have a right to be heard and speak against Bush just like you had your right to speak out against Clinton and you will have your right to speak out against the next Democrat president. Just don't try to kick us out of the country for trying to fix something that effects us when you are trying to ban Gay Marriage, something that effects you in no way. If Republicans have such a problem with Democrats and our right to speak out...leave the fuckin' country. I, of course, do not mean that. Why would anyone try to kick anyone out of their birth country that they have a right to be in? Happy Thanksgiving. (tongue firmly in cheek)
ps-before someone jumps on my case, I know I posted about starting a rebel island but that, my friends, was obviously a joke.
