This is the most important question of life. The question is: Are you saved?
It is not a question of how good you are, nor if you are a church member, but are you saved?
Are you sure you will go to Heaven when you die?
The reason some people don't know for sure if they are going to Heaven when they die is because they just don't know.
The good news is that you can know for sure that you are going to Heaven.
The Holy Bible describes Heaven as a beautiful place with no death, sorrow, sickness or pain.
God tells us in the Holy Bible how simple it is to be saved so that we can live forever with Him in Heaven.
"For if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)
Over 2000 years ago God came from Heaven to earth in the person of Jesus Christ to shed His blood and die on a cross to pay our sin debt in full.
Jesus Christ was born in Israel supernaturally to a virgin Jewish woman named Mary and lived a sinless life for thirty-three years.
At the age of thirty-three Jesus was scourged and had a crown of thorns pressed onto His head then Jesus was crucified.
Three days after Jesus died on a cross and was placed in a grave Jesus rose from the dead as Jesus said would happen before Jesus died.
If someone tells you that they are going to die and then three days later come back to life and it actually happens then this person must be the real deal.
Jesus Christ is the only person that ever lived a perfect sinless life.
This is why Jesus is able to cover our sins(misdeeds) with His own blood because Jesus is sinless.
The Holy Bible says, "In Him(Jesus) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins..." (Ephesians 1:7)
If you would like God to forgive you of your past, present and future sins just ask Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Saviour.
It doesn't matter how old you are or how many bad things that you have done in your life including lying and stealing all the way up to murder.
Just pray the prayer below with your mouth and mean it from your heart and God will hear you and save you.
Dear Jesus Christ, I want to be saved so that I can have a home in Heaven with You when I die. I agree with You that I am a sinner. I believe that You love me and want to save me. I believe that You bled and died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins and that You rose from the dead. Please forgive my sins and come into my heart and be my Lord and Saviour. Thanks Lord Jesus Christ for forgiving me and saving me through Your merciful grace. Amen.
Welcome to the family of God if you just allowed God to save you.
Now you are a real Christian and you can know for sure that you will live in Heaven forever when this life comes to an end.
As a child of God we are to avoid sin(wrongdoing), but if you do sin the Holy Bible says, "My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense Jesus Christ, the Righteous One."
Those of you that have not yet decided to place your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ may never get another chance to do so because you do not know when you will die.
Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life: no one can come to the Father(God)(in Heaven), but by me." (John 14:6)
This means that if you die without trusting in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour you will die in your sins and be forever separated from the love of God in a place called Hell.
The Holy Bible descibes Hell as a place of eternal torment, suffering, pain and agony for all those who have rejected Jesus Christ.
The good news is that you can avoid Hell by allowing Jesus Christ to save you today. Only then will you have true peace in your life knowing that no matter what happens you are on your way to Heaven.
Praise the Lord!
Servant of the Lord Jesus Christ

Three days after Jesus died on a cross and was placed in a grave Jesus rose from the dead as Jesus said would happen before Jesus died.
Seriously, is it wrong to use proper grammar when talking about Jesus? If you are allowed to say HE IS RISEN (also horrible grammar), can't you substitute a "Jesus" or two in this sentence for "He"?
If someone tells you that they are going to die and then three days later come back to life and it actually happens then this person must be the real deal.
I did that once. Xmanadan can vouch for me.
please don't take this as a slam on religion. There is a time and a place. TALK ABOUT MOVIES is not the place and 7:20 is not the time.

Well I moved it to the rumor mill since there has been a slight discussion about it. And even though I am more than sure that this hey person will not be back I have one thing to say to him. Jesus was a sinner. Actually several times before he was crucified and several times on the cross he questioned God and begged for there to be a different way. Also I just really had to point out that I was interested in the information on cults. And I found that what you have describing a cult describes all religious groups.
Below I have taken the liberty of filling in a few thoughts I had for each point of what makes a cult.
"What is a cult?
Generally, it is a group that is unorthodox, esoteric, and has a devotion to a person, object, or a set of new ideas.
Which if I am not mistaken isn't this why Jesus was killed?
Only True Teaching - often considers traditional religious systems to be apostate and it alone possess the complete truth.
Once again isn't this what Jesus thought? Granted it isn't new now; but it was then.
Strong Leadership - often an individual or small but powerful leadership group holds control of the group’s teachings and practices.
Small group, hmmm like 12 apostles?
Asset Acquirement - often requires tithing and/or property transfer to the religious system.
If I am not mistaken every Sunday they pass around the collection plate to take up money and it is strongly suggested that you give 10% of what you make to the church. Oh and wait you even call it tithing.
Controlling - exercises control over the members. Sometimes this is through fear, threatening lose of salvation if you leave the group. Sometimes through indoctrination.
The fear of God is preached over and over again, and if you leave Jesus or the church you are considered a stray lamb. Thus not being able to make it into heaven until you return to the flock.
Apocalyptic - to give the members a future focus and philosophical purpose in avoiding the apocalypse or being delivered through it.
All of the book of Revelations is about the Apocalypse, and the only way to avoid it is to follow Jesus.
Experience - various practices including meditation, repetition of words and/or phrases, and ‘spiritual’ enlightenment with God are used as confirmation of their truth.
Like praying, using the terms forgiveness, Savior, holy, heaven, etc.
Depravation - sleep and food deprivation which weakens the will of the subject.
The week before Easter it is encouraged to only eat Levin bread or try to fast.
Many have a non-verifiable belief systems
For example, they would teach something that cannot be verified.
A space ship behind Hale-Bop comet
Or, that God, an alien, or angel appeared to the leader and gave him a revelation
And you can prove that Moses received the 10 commandments from God? Were you there to see Jesus rise from the dead?
The leader claims to be appointed by God for a mission
True, I have heard every preacher that I have ever know to be on a mission from God.
Cult ethos
Usually seek to do good works, otherwise no one would join them.
Such as missionary work?
They are usually moral and possess a good standard of ethical teaching.
Many times the Bible is used or additional "scriptures" are penned.
The Bible, when used, is always distorted with private interpretations.
Many Cults recruit Jesus as one of their own and redefine him accordingly
If I am not mistaken, every church and denomination has a different take on Jesus, God, Mary, and what the Bible says.
Wow it looks like those years my parents sent me to Christian School actually finally paid of for something. I don't care what people believe in just don't force it on me.

I'm so tired of people trying to tell everybody how to go to heaven. I read this article in GQ about this group of surfer missionaries who think their so great for going into the Muslim territory to convert people. Fuck me. If these people wanted to be converted they would do it. It seems to me that the generalization of Christianity (not the iealogy but the commercialism) is a disease that is spreading. No one is really looking to catch it and no one really needs it but there it is. I have my beliefs. I may be wrong or I may be right but I have faith in my beliefs and thats what makes them mine. Not everyone has to think like me and I would just as soon shoot myself in the foot then force my opinion on others. That is the ultimate desecartion of your own beliefs in my opinion. You'll gain no validity in your own beliefs by trying to get other people to agree with them.

It's a fine line though. Most religions tell you that evangelizing is what needs to be done. For some religions those who don't practice the same are doomed. Others believe that only the ones that have heard but chose not to listen are doomed.
For some muslim sects .. they are told that if the person disagrees with you you may kill them ... (not all, so no one jump down my throat) ... but .. i keep a burqa in the house just in case!

Respect for all beliefs is the answer. If a Christian wants to spread the word of God that is/should be their right. The same is true for Muslims, Hindu and Jews or anyone else. It is from real knowledge that true belief is born. If you are threatened by another's beliefs then you should examine your true feelings. When you have a religion that wants to silence what they perceive as the opposition then you might want to examine the foundation on which it is built.
If someone asks you "Is God dead?"
You can answer by saying "Which God? The God of Baptists? The God of Catholics? The God of Islam? The God of ?
To whom should you be true? I think yourself.

That is my point. If you are comfortable with your beliefs, you can listen to whatever anyone else says with an open mind and believe that they believe what they are saying and learn something. It is not about who is right.
The sharing of beliefs provides insight into the person/soul/being.

In theory yes. But if your religion tells you to go out and preach does it make your faith strong to go out and do it because you've been told to. The whole concept of keeping an open mind is seeking the answers, not having them thrust upon you.
Wheh I was a kid I was dedicated as Catholic. It meant nothing to me. I was not seeking it out not did I understand it at all, even with years of Sunday school and mass. Later on in life I coverted to Christianity for similar reasons, I think I was 15, and even though I felt that this was what I wanted i was detered by the many Christians that I was surrounded by that were two face bullshit artists. In the proverbial, "They talked the talk but did not walk the walk."
Religion is a very intimate thing. I mean, hey, if you want someone to give you the protocol of what you should believe in and how you should behave, thats your progative. If you choose to knock on my door, leave pamphlets in my mial box, or hound me in an airport, well, we are not going to become fast friends. If we happen to stumble into an indepth conversation on the ideology of religions without you trying to tell me what I must believe in, then we can talk.

Choice. If your religion tells you to go out and preach then you must choose. If someone's religion tells them to preach to you, then choose to listen or walk away. It is all about choice. Only you hold the key.
Open your mind and heart and choose to listen and learn.
Empathy is opening yourself up to understanding.
