I think it will break Spiderman 2's weekend record. There were at least 6 SOLD-OUT theaters at Regal Hollywood 24 for the 12:01 shows and I think they told me that added a few more plus the 99x theater. I have never seen any movie open like that. Phipps had one side of the screens ALL showing it on Thursday.
For BOS, the numbers really dipped today - to $24.4m but I've heard a lot of buzz from people running to see Star Wars III this weekend. It will be interesting to see how it all ends up on Sunday! With these fantastic #'s, will it hurt the rest of the top 10 flicks?

Star Wars made an estimated $35,500,000 on Friday, dipping 29% for a two day total of just over $85,500,000. It is on course to take in around $109,000,000 for the 3 days and $159,000,000 for the 4 days. This would take the 4-day record from The Matrix Reloaded but not the 3-day record from Spider-Man.
