A Thomas Monk series set in England after WWI. Monk now works for the River Patrol/Police, instead of Scotland Yard, which means the people he encounters are the lowest of society. This story unfolds the horrors of boy sex business and involves top citizens. This is the same England that Jacqueline Winspear, Charles Todd, and Barbara Cleverly follow, but each brings a different perspective and each is enjoyable for that difference. Winspear and Todd bring more into each novel than Cleverly and Perry, and I adore Ian Rutledge and Maisis Dobbs better than Joe Sandilands or Thomas Monk.
