I love the Vampire Chronicles, fantasy novels, true crime, mystery, Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite books for being a kid, about the only thing I won't read is the romance novels too much for me.

As for a childrens book I grew up with Pokey Little Puppie and the old school Disney stories books...

I have a book called the Covenant with the Vampire by Jeanne Kalogridis excellent. I am looking for the rest of her books.. also of course Anne Rice and Brian Lumley but I have also found Michael Romkey he has a great series on Vampires... I just picked up First Print First Edition Anne Rice - Servant of the Bones, Taltos & Tale of the Body Thief... Ebay is a great thing. :D

i like the weird stuf nobody reads. Favorite authors are Chuck Pahlaniuk (Fight Club, Choke) and Arthur Nersesian, a burrows author. I'm currently reading Chuck Pahlaniuk's new book STRANGER THAN FICTION that comes out in a few weeks and it very odd. This is his first non-fiction book and it's full of a bunch of random true stories that inspired his books, etc. I like it so far....I'll let you know how it is, if anyone is interested.

Brian Lumley is great. I loved the first three books of the Necroscope series, the others were good too. I met Anne Rice a couple of years ago at a book signing she was doing at North Point. That was cool. I didn't know of anyone else that had heard of Brian Lumley, it is great to meet another fan. :D

I like silly romance and most other popular fiction. Anything that's an easy read.

I like a sci fi book, but I also like weird stories. My main read is normally Stehpen King, Piers Anthony, Kurt Vonnegut, Robert Heinlein, Dogulas Adams (which anyone that don't know what Douglas Adams wrote, it's the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, that's the name of the first book, there are a total of 5, but you can get them in one of those books with all of them together at places like Walden Books or Barnes and Noble for about 10 bucks, but they are by far the best books I've read, they have everything from humor to romance to just plain crazy), also like Robert Asprin, Frank Herbert, and of course Tolkien, and I have just recently gotten into reading the Harry Potter books, but I've only read years 4 and 5, plan on getting the first 3 soon. I have some others that I really like that only done one or two books and are not well known and at the moment I couldn't tell you the names of them either.

The first book I read when I was a kid is Then Again, Maybe I Won't by Judy Blume but I really didn't get into ready because of it. The book that got me into reading was Stephen Kings Cujo.
I recommend these books to read
1) The Dark Tower series by Stephen King - 7 books
2) Stranger In a Strange Lane by Robert Heinlein
3) Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams - 5 books or 1 book combined

Well I read a variety of types of books--ranging from science fiction to biographies to humor to tv/movies to some fiction. The only genre I really dont get into is the 'romance novel' area because they do come off as cheesy. Some authors I can recommend are Neil Gaiman, Brian Michael Bendis (his comic and non comic work), E Lynn Harris (the first novels), Richard Pryor (yes the one and only), Antwone Fisher (the subject and author of the movie), & T.H White (author of THE ONCE AND FUTURE KING). One person who I got turned on to during a visit to ATL a few years ago by his display at Emery was Gordon Parks (world famous photgrapher and co-creator of the movie SHAFT). He has been featured on OPRAH and 60 MINUTES a few times. If you are into art/photography and like interesting stories, check him out.
