OK I know there are many a Will and Grace fan out there but I am going to say this anyway...the show is about to run out PERIOD--and this season a good example.
The show this season should have been called Will&Grace&GUEST STAR.
I know Debra Messing just had a baby in real life and that was why her appearances this season were sporadic...but the chemistry has been lacking for a while. I didnt understand why she had to marry Harry Connick Jr's character because they were written off almost immediately--and he has been brought back--to break up with her. *GOD I MISS WOODY HARRELSON*
Karen and Jack are the comedic pair--but forcing them to deal with more 'situations' hasnt made them more interesting-it's forcing them to be more 'adult' and that is not why folks watch the show.
My biggest complaint about this show....WILL NOT HAVING A ROMANTIC LIFE!! The producers of the show have been very public in saying that Will probably will not have a real romantic life because they dont think that the public is ready--plus they think that it will dampen the comedic flow of the show and they rather let the show go for years rather than take a risk. I mean come on-we all know gay men sleep together and lord knows that they have shown Grace in bed enough with men.
If someone can convince me that Will and Grace is going to take a big turnaround next season--please do.

Will & Grace is certainly not the show it once was and if things don't pick up next season it'll be the end. Without my beloved FRIENDS on Thursday nights I will need a really good reason to watch NBC's "Must See TV" night - hopefully Will & Grace can get some better writers to highlight the wonderful chemistry the original cast once had.

NBC will officially drop the MUST SEE TV moniker this fall when JOEY premieres. They will adopt a new slogan which has yet to be announced. like that will make people watch that god-awful spinoff.

Will & Grace is never a risk-taking show, it will stay in the comfort, try-not-to-offend-anyone zone forever. The only reason this show existed is because Ellen paved the way, which the producers have been admitting it since the show got popular.
I haven't watched Will & Grace since last seasons finally. Karen and jack being more adult??!!?!?!?! That's just wrong! Karen being a carefree, rich, alcoholic and Jack being forever 8 was half the appeal of the show.

Will and Grace has cooled off so much from the first few seasons until now it is almost a typical sitcom. yeah the MUST SEE TV logo had to go because JOEY and WILL & GRACE will not fall into that category unless there are dramatic changes. The show did benefit from ELLEN but the big difference is everyone knew what brought ELLEN down--not that the fact that she is gay....but the fact that the SHOW STOPPED BEING FUNNY (RULE NUMBER ONE OF ALL COMEDIES-MUST BE FUNNY!!!) It is the first COMEDY since ELLEN to last more than one season with gay main characters. I mean come on FRIENDS and FRASIER even worked in dramatic storylines in with comedy. Even the shows like the Simpsons where there is little change ever--the thing is--we see things we hadnt seen before when that joke is told in a new way--when a spotlight falls on various characters--or hell just mixing things up (TEMPORARILY OF COURSE).
OK back to WILL AND GRACE (LOL)
The producers have mentioned that this is their version of I LOVE LUCY. HMMMMM lets see ...each have four main people....none of which however are married to each other...Debra Messing has red hair...Lucy has red hair....both comedies have done lots of slapstick...Lucy got pregnant and broke tv taboos and got high ratings....Debra got pregnant and left the show for several episodes and ratings havent gone up.....Lucy always been happily married....Grace never been happy with men for long.....Rick and Will both enjoy their jobs.....yeah I see all the similiarities (LOL) ...Seriously though I could see the I LOVE LUCY stuff in the first couple of seasons but now the show is a bad version of FRIENDS (LOL).
WHEW....done venting now...LOL

well maybe now that grace and leo have finally broken up, the show will go back to the way it was before? it was a huge mistake bringing in leo and i think the producers have finally realized that.

Exactly....while adding characters should enhance and expand story possiblities-the whole Leo thing has been a dud from the start--if Grace should married anyone it should have been Woody Harrelson (now he added chemistry to the whole mix--plus it was interesting watchin him deal with Will and Jack ...and grow)

I started this thread last season and after seeing the first two episodes of the new season....my opinion has not changed.
EXCEPT.....the producers have slipped Will a boyfriend but willl things actually get serious or will he be written off once Cher or Madonna need to make a RE APPEARANCE on the show (they will need to pay her and the show's budget aint that large...LOL)........

yeah, the show has kind of went down hill. and to have to have a guest start for the past 4 episodes now (dating back to last season) is kind of pathetic. I think they realized they made a big mistake with have Grace get married and they tried to recover from it but could not. Was it me or does it seem like Will's boyfriend is the only funny one on the show now?

Ok I have to comment on the series finale last night!!!!
FINALLY A GREAT EPISODE!!!!!!!!
I really enjoyed the flashforward to show both what if a) Grace didnt go back to Leo and b) what if she did. The characters were fun and ended up in a good place realistically. (Now I will probably buy the finale on dvd next week.)
I cant really find anything I didnt like about it and I have to again say BRAVO NBC !!!!
