I have to commend Parcells for allowing me to think that he is not a completely washed up old son of a gun. Bledsoe, who has been a poor QB not only for the past few games of the season but from earlier on, will sit out against the Panthers. Second string QB Tony Romo will make his first start and begin his career in the NFL playing his first full game this Sunday.
During the MNF exhibition the Cowboys looked poor and unorganized compared to the Giants who pounced all over the Dallas players causing them further confusion. To make matters worse Bledsoe appeared to be a cardboard cut out, minus his daring rushing touchdown, who could neither throw nor manuevere against the Giants defense. After four sacks and a turnover Parcells benched him and brough in Romo much to the crowds pleasure. Romo's first pass was an interception. Technically it was deflected by a defensive lineman and then rebounded on by another Giants players so I don't really call that an interception. To Romo's defense Bledsoe handed him an unwinnable game.
Romo is everything Bledsoe is not. An athlete that can both pass, throw, and think on his feet. He has proven he has what it takes to win and even though he hasn't had a whole lot of field time I think he will be better off for the Cowboys then Bledsoe ever could have been. My guess is Dallas will win against the Panthers who will be trying to come back from a loss against the Bengals.
