Does anyone dream of being the screenwriter for a sequel to a movie they saw in theatres? I know I do.
The one I really want to do is the sequel to The Island.
***spoiler alert*** - stop reading if you still haven't seen The Island and are planning to catch it on DVD.
OK, so the clones have escaped, and now everyone knows that they are living, breathing human beings with thoughts and feelings of their own. So now what? Are they going to be granted rights as citizens? We've seen how easily Ewan MacGregor's clone was able to pretend to be him; is that going to be a constant problem now? I'm envisioning sort of a "clone's rights" movement, with other clones being too impatient to wait for the system to catch up to their needs, choosing to exploit the fact that they're clones of the rich and famous for personal gain. Ewan's clone character would be at the heart of the story, trying to bridge the gap between the two groups (and, of course, racing to save the day once the "bad" clones have set an evil plot in motion to kill their human counterparts and take on their identities).
What do y'all think? Would you go see it?
