Yeah, but this is not the kind of movie you want to pay for. Besides, they have dozen of screenings for this movie. By the time it releases in theathers, I think most folks had already seen the movie anyways. Ha... :p

How do you find out about the dozens of screenings? Is there more than one screening of the same movie in one city? I usually only know of one screening, and that's through the sites I know about.

You just have to keep an eye out for them. For this movie, I saw that there were screenings through 955 the beat, C.H.U.D., q100 ( I think), UPN and they were handing passes out after the Village screening that I went to. But this movie is unusual, usually I see screenings posted for the same movie by 1 or 2 different groups. I guess they are hoping for good word of mouth to boost this movie, but I doubt it will be a blockbuster, even though it was cute.

Nailady, for this movie, they have been given out passes after other screenings way back in early July. Not always, but sometimes certain films have multiple screenings. Sometimes, when you came out of the screening you just saw, they would hand you pass for the same movie on a different dates. You just have to keep your eyes out. There is no real secret on how to get it, most of the time is depend on luck.

I too, heard there is another ATL screening next week - Tues 8/17 at Hollywood 24. Check with some of the sponsors listed above to see if you can get a pass. I saw it last month - when I know there were at least 2 screenings the same week.

I don't know what is wrong with the movie critics at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. They gave this movie a 'D' Did we see the same flick? I thought this movie was funny as hell and I would definetely see it again. They said "Without a Paddle" is without a purpose.

I agree. This morning when I saw the D grade given by AJC, I could not believe my eyes. I liked the movie a lot and the three friends who went to the screening with me all liked the movie.

On the other hand, AJC gives We Don't Live Here Any More a B+ and that says something too (nobody I know of liked the movie).

I agree that WOP was more enjoyable. I just had lower expectations for it, and they were exceeded, rather than the other way around, which is what I felt about We Don't Live Here Anymore. Paddle is just a dumb, funny Summer movie, I'm no smarter for having seen it, but it wasn't a waste of time. Just a popcorn flick-which isn't a bad thing

Unless we are not getting the same AJC, they gave We Don't Live Here Anymore a C+ today (which is not a good grade, it's not a positive review either when I read it), NOT B+. I am not trying to defend AJC but just want to be true and fair. :)

I do enjoy Without A Paddle, at times it was funny. I even saw it twice. But the movie did come off as a trite complacency. However, movie reviews ARE subjective and unilateral. It depends on a person's acquired taste.

You know how sometimes in movies, they have a scene where the characters all sing-along to a song, like Wayne's World or Almost Famous. Well I thought it was really funny that in Without A Paddle they sing-along to some song, and it's not funny at all. It's extremely lame. Not in a cool, Gallagher kind of way lame, but like a Carrot Top kind of lame.

And on the other hand, Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle had an awesomely good lame sing-along to Wilson Phillips' "Hold On." Very well done. You know you all know the words.
