ALI G Meets BORAT For the Very First Time

In His Feature Film Debut

ALI G INDAHOUSE:
THE MOVIE

Available Now on DVD
from Universal Studios Home Entertainment

Universal City, California, November 14, 2006 – Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, the mastermind behind the outrageous alter ego personas Ali G and Borat, gives a tour de force performance in his first feature film, the hilariously edgy Ali G Indahouse: The Movie, currently available on DVD from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The first ever meeting in a feature film between the two comedic icons, Ali G and Borat, is a treat for fans of both characters along with the trademark sexy, irreverent, politically incorrect humor fans of Cohen have come to know and love. Ali G Indahouse: The Movie is a perfect introduction to the outrageous world of today’s red-hot comedian the New York Post has called “terrifyingly funny.” The DVD contains over two hours of bonus features that can’t be shown in polite company, much less theatres, and include some truly jaw-dropping deleted scenes and a guide to talking like Ali G.

The Ali G Phenomenon

Born as a five-minute skit on a British late-night TV show, Ali G has become an international sensation, the highly recognized, blinged-out, track-suited personality whose would-be gangsta cool/clueless demeanor hasn’t stopped him from hosting the European MTV Awards, appearing with Madonna in her music videos, or becoming a pop culture phenomenon. Fans who first encountered Ali G on his hit HBO series “Da Ali G Show” find themselves laughing and cringing simultaneously as the rapper-turned-TV interviewer confounds real-life politicos and celebrities with his side-splittingly inane questions, often leaving them in bewilderment while Ali G bulldozes his way on to the next topic.

Bonus Features, INIT?

In addition to the full-length feature, the Ali G Indahouse: The Movie DVD features over two hours of exclusive bonus material with specially filmed introductions by Ali G including:

· “Me Video Diary” − Ali G takes viewers on a hilarious tour of the set.

· “Talkin’ Da Talk Wiv Ali G” − The Oxford English guide to Ali G-speak.

· “Scenes No In It, Init?” (Deleted Scenes) − Gags too outrageous even for this movie.

· Trailer: “Da Greatest” − Ali G floats like a bee and stings like a butterfly.

· Trailer: “Tupac Teaser” − Ali G's dog Tupac proves he really is this man's best friend

Synopsis

In this wild amalgam of the sexy, gross-out comedy of American Pie and the subversive satire of the BBC's “The Office,” Ali G (Sacha Baron Cohen) unwittingly becomes a pawn in a plot to bring down the British Prime Minister (Michael Gambon, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Gosford Park) when he’s convinced to run for a Parliament seat by a scheming politico (Charles Dance, Gosford Park). But the plan backfires when Ali wins the election and is embraced by the nation as the voice of youth and “realness,” making the Prime Minister and his government more popular than ever. The film also stars Martin Freeman (Love Actually, Shaun of the Dead) as Ali’s homeboy Ricky C. and Kellie Bright (Upper Hand, Bad Girls) as his girlfriend Me Julie. Directed by Mark Mylod, who also directed the upcoming The Big White starring Robin Williams, Holly Hunter and Woody Harrelson, the film is produced by Working Title Films (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Bridget Jones’ Diary).

Let’s Go to prison

Sentenced to DVD March 6 from

Universal Studios Home Entertainment

Universal City, California, January 18, 2007 – Hard time has never been so hilarious as an ex-con with a grudge turns the justice system upside down in Let’s Go To Prison, available on DVD on March 6, 2007 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Prison food, hostile gangs and large, rude inmates take center stage in this no-holds-barred comedy starring Dax Shepard (Employee of the Month) and Will Arnett (“Arrested Development”) as a pair of mismatched cellmates, along with a side-splitting performance from Chi McBride (“The Nine,” “House”). Directed by Bob Odenkirk (“Mr. Show”), Let’s Go To Prison abounds with belly laughs as the well-laid plans of an inmate in search of payback go disastrously and hilariously awry. The DVD features extras including uproarious deleted scenes, an alternate ending and an exclusive behind-the-scenes visit and both the unrated and original theatrical version of the film.

Career criminal John Lyshitski (Dax Shepard) has spent his most recent prison stretch looking forward to getting back at the judge who threw the book at him. When the jurist dies just days before his release, Lyshitski instead frames the man’s spoiled and arrogant son, Nelson Biederman IV (Will Arnett). Nelson is sentenced to three-to-five, and Lyshitski gleefully returns to jail, where he devotes his days to devising creative ways to steer the scrub as far wrong as possible. The DVD is priced at $29.98. Pre-order close is January 30, 2007.

Big House Bonuses

The Let’s Go to Prison DVD locks up even more laughs with bonus features including:

· Includes the UNRATED and theatrical version of the film!

· Alternate Ending!

· Deleted Scenes!

· Let’s Go to Prison Soundtrack Sessions – Director Bob Odenkirk hosts a behind-the-scenes visit with the musicians who scored Let’s Go to Prison.

Synopsis

Career criminal John Lyshitski (Dax Shepard) survived his latest stint in the slammer dreaming of his revenge on Nelson Biederman III, the judge who first sent him to prison. When he learns that Biederman died just days before his release, Lyshitski decides to punish the judge’s pompous only son, Nelson IV (Will Arnett), instead. After he engineers the arrest and incarceration of Biederman, Lyshitski deliberately gets himself arrested and heads happily back to the slammer to witness the inevitable mayhem. He pretends to befriend Biederman, even snagging him as a cellmate, all the while working behind his back to make sure that his stay is as miserable as possible. Things are looking glum for Nelson when he becomes the object of the affections of hulking gang leader Barry (Chi McBride), but just as Lyshitski begins to enjoy his sweet revenge, an unexpected turn of events turns Nelson into the Big Man of the Big House.

ABOUT VEGAS VAMPIRES

When night falls upon Las Vegas, the vampires of the underground emerge. Lead vampire "Q" (Alex Wilkinson) is on a quest for the perfect bride with whom he can breed generations of vampires and continue his reign. Meanwhile, the Las Vegas police department is in hot pursuit of whoever is behind a series of slayings in the city's hottest nightclubs. A conflict emerges between Officer Johnson (Tommy 'Tiny' Lister) and Officer Patterson (Glenn Plummer) and head detective Burns (Daniel Baldwin), who wants to suppress the truth - vampires are taking over his city. The plot thickens when Patterson is found dead, an apparent victim of a bite to the neck. Left to crack the case alone, Johnson sets out to avenge the death of his partner and end "Q's" reign of terror.

The film pays “tribute” to Richard Roundtree’s iconic character John Shaft, by recreating fight sequences in the spirit of the Blaxploitation film favorite, “Shaft”

Directed by former Oakland Raiders/Kansas City Chiefs football star turned actor/director Fred Williamson. Williamson, one of the first African-American male action stars during 1970’s, has achieved a long and illustrious career as a director, writer and producer including Down and Dirty, On The Edge and TV’s Lexie.

Children of Men also stars Julianne Moore as the leader of the underground opposition group that enlists Theo’s help, as well as veteran actor Michael Caine in a witty and wily portrayal of a lapsed idealist trapped in a nightmarish world.

CRITICS HAIL CHILDREN OF MEN

Critics agree Children of Men is an extraordinary film. Scott Mantz of “Access Hollywood” declares Children of Men as “Powerful, provocative and absolutely brilliant!” The film is packed with “Exhilarating action” according to Peter Travers of Rolling Stone. It is “Magnificent…a unique and totally original vision” says Pete Hammond, Maxim.

Bonus fEATURES go BEHIND THE SCENES

The Children of Men DVD and HD-DVD include exclusive looks behind-the-scenes with the critically acclaimed film’s creators and actors including:

· Deleted Scenes!

· Possibility of Hope – A chilling documentary features the world's leading futurists and philosophers examining social and economic shifts that find expression in Children of Men.

· Theo and Julian – In exclusive on-set interviews, actors Clive Owen and Julianne Moore offer up insights and secrets about the complex and compelling characters they have created in Children of Men .

· Futuristic Designs - Director Alfonso Cuarón created an original and dynamic vision of the future for this film. Follow his vision as it goes from concept to seething cinematic life in this featurette.

· Visual Effects: Creating the Baby - Uncover the incredible visual effects used to create a life-like baby in the film.

· Men Under Attack – Children of Men features amazingly realistic scenes of the chaos and violence and groundbreaking, Oscar®-nominated cinematography by Emmanuel Lubezki, called by Rolling Stone's Peter Travers "a weaver of visual miracles." This mini-documentary breaks down two of the most terrifying scenes in the film – the café explosion and a car under violent attack from all sides - to show how the filmmakers created sequences in which "You don't just watch the scene, you live inside it, ducking each fresh, ferocious assault."

SYNOPSIS:

You’ve got to get on to get off.

John Cameron Mitchell’s SHORTBUS explores the lives of several emotionally challenged characters as they navigate the comic and tragic intersections between love and sex in and around a modern-day underground salon. A sex therapist who has never had an orgasm, a dominatrix who is unable to connect, a gay couple who are deciding whether to open up their relationship, and the people who weave in and out of their lives, all converge on a weekly gathering called Shortbus: a mad nexus of art, music, politics and polysexual carnality. Set in a post-9/11, Bush-exhausted New York City, SHORTBUS tells its story with sexual frankness, suggesting new ways to reconcile questions of the mind, pleasures of the flesh and imperatives of the heart.

I highly recommend people check out Shortbus if you didn't do so in theaters, since it's only play at one theater here and all...
It's not porn, folks. Although sexually charged, all the actors are capable and can act. It's funny, sad, sexy all roll in one when all those characters try to curb loneliness and make a connection thru sex.
Hey, and I have never see a gay menage-a-trois (on a theatrical feature film) in which the guy sings Star Spankle Banner into another guy's asshole while the other guy is performing a blow job. Fun stuff.

They follow the energy waves to the distant planet Mongo, where they discover that evil despot Ming the Merciless (Max von Sydow in a deliciously sinister performance) is planning to obliterate life on Earth. Ming decides to add lovely Dale to his harem of concubines and attempts to imprison Flash, who escapes and takes refuge with the planet’s rebel forces. He convinces rival Mongo princes Barin (Timothy Dalton) and Vultan (Brian Blessed) to unite their armies, and leads them in an all-out campaign to overthrow Ming and save humanity.

THE PINK FLOYD AND SYD BARRETT STORY

(DELUXE EDITION)

Available on DVD

September 18, 2007

Through MVD Visual

MVD Visual is delighted to announce the DVD release of this personal and candid profile of the once effervescent musician and now cult figure of Syd Barrett. This new definitive edition includes two discs with over 2 1/2 hours of DVD extras, including lengthy unedited interviews from all members of the Pink Floyd. It’s a limited edition run of 5,000 in the Oyster Box packaging with ten items of reproduction memorabilia in a special printed envelope. After the limited edition has sold out, the double disc version will be then packaged in a standard plastic double DVD box.

The Pink Floyd and Syd Barrett Story retells the fascinating story of the start of one of the largest and most influential bands in rock and the drug induced breakdown of their original song writer and lead man. Roger Waters, Dave Gilmour, Nick Mason and Rick Wright retell how Syd’s slip from reality haunted the band for many years and this is clearly demonstrated in the tracks Shine On You Crazy Diamond and Wish You Were Here. The film incorporates rare early footage of the band performing; including a live show at the UFO Club, and an appearance with former landlord Mick Leonard on Tomorrows World. There are also insights from former girlfriends, landlords, flat mates, producers, managers, friends and famous fans.

As one of the most famous creators and characters of the psychedelic era, Syd Barrett had not conducted an interview or released music between the early seventies and his recent passing, yet his self-imposed anonymity still fascinates fans old and new. The original songwriter for Pink Floyd was only with the band for a vibrant 3 years when he left in 1968, yet when the band released their greatest hits album in 2001 Syd had written over a fifth of the tracks. It’s been nearly 40 years since Syd Barrett left the band, yet mystery still surrounds this prodigy of rock.

This fascinating documentary traces the creative and personal tumult of Barrett's days with Pink Floyd, and the fallout from his psychedelics induced breakdown.

I wouldn't call 300 a gladiator movie though. I is not just a fighting movie (although at is a majority of the scenes), you can fall in love with the beauty of the film. The scenes are all very artistically done, the costumes are gorgeous, and there are tons of half naked muscular men :D

I would recommend that you at least rent it, couldn't hurt.

i dunno, someone told me that snyder adapted some stuff weird from the original, and made it more of a kind of propaganda piece: white western men against dark-skinned eastern men; he said that in the comics the divisions weren't as pronounced. and some other stuff but i forgot

ABOUT THE HIT
Hen has made it to the big time. Growing up in Compton and starting his own record label off of money he conned from a loan shark, he has built up a $300 million empire. But there's a problem: Like all other rap labels, despite their enormous success, a huge portion of their profits are continually siphoned off by the major distribution houses. Hen is sick of this and decides to revolutionize the business by bringing together his and other rap labels to form a confederation apart from the distribution houses — a confederation that would be self-funded and allow them to keep the profits they earn while being socially conscious within their communities.

Rap labels are notorious for not getting along with one another, but under Hen’s leadership — and the promise of seeing triple the revenues — the labels decide to give it a shot . . . except one boss, who decides to take a much more violent approach to bring his cash cows back into the fold. The story twists and turns as betrayal leaves some dead and others in the hospital. Will this fledgling venture be able to withstand infighting and constant threats by mafia and music bosses alike?

OCT 23 THE ADVENTURES OF YOUNG INDIANA JONES Volume 1
(1692 min.)

Adventures of Young Indiana Jones stars Sean Patrick Flannery (Boondock Saints, Powder).

According to my Netflix account volume one boasts a massive 12 disc set. Could possibly be the rental formated set but I can't wait to get my hands on all the episodes. I saw a few when I was younger and liked them enough to keep an eye out for it.

In Bring It On: In It To Win It, Southern California high-school senior Carson (Ashley Benson) arrives at the all-important “Cheer Camp Nationals” determined to lead her squad, the West High Sharks, to victory. But chic New Yorker Brooke (Cassie Scerbo) and her team, the East High Jets, are equally steadfast in their pursuit of the competition’s coveted “Spirit Stick.” As tension mounts between the two rival squads, Carson falls for fellow cheerleader Penn (Michael Copon), not realizing he’s a Jet. When Brooke discovers the budding romance, she raises the stakes by challenging Carson to a one-on-one cheer-off. A spectacular “cheer fighting” sequence erupts into a no-holds-barred brawl and cheerleaders on both sides are suspended from the competition. With their dreams of taking home the top prize all but shattered, the leaders of both squads realize they’ll have to take drastic measures to stay in the game.

Zodiac + 4 minutes, 3:10 to yuma remake, and the harshly-edited director-disapproved cut of KLIMT. why in 2008 are we still releasing butchered versions of movies on video? not like adding that 40 minutes back into the film on disc would've lost anyone money. hell, i might've even bought the thing. or rented it.

Revere’-ing Another Real American Hero

Original DVD Series, History’s Heroes,
Makes Learning About American History Fun
Newest Release, “Paul Revere: Midnight Ride,” Available on DVD Feb. 12, 2008

PROSSER, WA (Jan. 2, 2008))--- The Shot Heard Round the World … The British Are Coming … One if by Land, Two if by Sea … sound familiar? Famous phrases all related to Paul Revere’s famous ride to warn the American colonials of the Redcoats’ impending arrival prior to the American Revolution. This heroic tale is told in “Paul Revere: Midnight Ride,” the latest release in History’s Heroes series, available on DVD Feb. 12, 2008 from American Animation Studios.

The History’s Heroes series, launched in September, recounts America’s greatest historical stories using the latest digital animation technologies. Devoted to young learners, the series is storytelling at its best. Each vividly computer-animated DVD tells the story of a particular American hero or heroine through colorful characters who actually talk to young viewers, instead of at them. The events and values of our American heritage are brought to life with delightful humor, vivid 3-D animation, and easy-to-follow storylines — all in a format children love, understand, and can enjoy over and over.

In the series’ latest title, “Paul Revere: Midnight Ride,” host Ellie, a charming, emerald-eyed eagle (and niece of original host Boomer), introduces young patriots to Paul Revere, who was chosen for one of history’s most important missions: ride from Boston to Lexington, Mass., and warn the Colonial Minutemen of the arrival of the British soldiers (or Regulars, as we learn they were called, therefore altering the famous alert “The British are coming” to the more accurate “The Regulars are coming).

Page 2 of 3—Paul Revere: Midnight Ride

Come along on a risky ferry ride across the Charles River past the British blockade; await the infamous “one if by land, two if by sea” lantern signal; ride by moonlight to warn the Minuteman leaders in Lexington; and rendezvous with the colonials in Concord. Viewers are with Paul every step of the way as he completes his task – with an occasional helping hand (er, wing) from Ellie – to prepare the American rebels for what would become the Battle of Lexington, kick-starting the American Revolution with the “shot heard round the world.” The excitement of the events never wanes as the dramatic animation and narration carries us right into the heart of the action.

Aiding Ellie is Ralph Waldo Emerson, who penned “The Concord Hymn,” which includes the infamous line “…and fired the shot heard ‘round the world”, inspired by these events. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote “The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere:” “Listen my children and you shall hear of the midnight ride of Paul Revere…one if by land, and two if by sea, and I on the opposite shore will be…”

Each History’s Heroes DVD is available for a suggested retail price of $19.95 and includes a 35-minute video program, along with several bonus features: English and Spanish subtitles, a behind-the-scenes look at how the program was made, and access to the History’s Heroes Web site, www.historysheroes.com, for profiles of other heroes and heroines, homework help, and much more.

The company will also release an Education Edition of “Paul Revere: Midnight Ride” DVD, which will include all that is on the consumer plus a discussion guide, student quizzes, classroom projects, and other teaching resources. This expanded Education Edition retails for $39.95.

Initial release in the History Heroes launch, “Patrick Henry”: Quest for Freedom,” became one of the most honored children’s DVDs of 2007 winning awards and accolades including:

A winner of a Parents’ Choice Silver Award
One of Dr. Toy’s Best 100 Children’s Products
One of Dr. Toy’s Top 10 Education Products
KIDS FIRST! endorsement
Award of Excellence from Film Advisory Board
The Family Review Platinum Award
A winner of a iParenting Media Award
Dove Foundation Approval

History’s Heroes is recommended for ages eight and older. Additional titles will follow in coming months. Beginning in 2008, American Animation Studios plans to release two to four History’s Heroes DVDs each year, featuring such heroes and heroines as Frederick Douglass, Teddy Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, and others.

MELISSA

Debuts on DVD January 15, 2008

A web of treachery, lies, and deceit ensnares a man accused of his wife’s murder

Acorn Media announces the January 15, 2008 DVD debut of Melissa, a spellbinding BBC murder mystery written by famed English crime writer and dramatist Francis Durbridge.

Unemployed Fleet Street reporter Guy Foster is trying to forge a new career as a novelist. But he could never imagine the plot twists that his life takes next. Late one night, Guy’s beautiful wife, Melissa, is strangled. As the clues to her murder mount, they all point to him.

It’s true that the two had not been getting along. But Guy has never seen a doctor about his anger—although the doctor tells police Guy is his patient. A disturbing phone call puts Guy on the scene of another fresh corpse. A third woman who survives a murder attempt describes her attacker, and every detail matches Guy. As each new incident casts doubt on his innocence—and even his sanity—Guy throws himself into the investigation to clear his own name and learn the truth about Melissa at last.

Melissa is written by Francis Durbridge, whose Paul Temple series was one of the most successful in the history of British broadcasting, and stars Peter Barkworth (Manhunt, Telford’s Change), Ronald Fraser (Pygmalion), and Moira Redman (Suddenly, Last Summer). Produced in 1974, the miniseries was featured on PBS Mystery! in its third season in 1982.

RISING DAMP: THE MOVIE

Debuts on DVD January 15, 2008

Feature film based on the hilarious British TV comedy classic

Acorn Media announces the January 15, 2008 DVD debut of Rising Damp: The Movie, the feature film based on the enduringly popular television comedy.

Hailed as one of Britain’s funniest TV series ever, Rising Damp reaches new heights of hilarity as a full-length feature. Leonard Rossiter (The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin) reprises his role as Rupert Rigsby, the meddling, lecherous landlord for the most ridiculous bunch of social misfits ever collected under one roof. They include Miss Jones (Tony®-winning stage and screen star Frances de la Tour, The History Boys, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), a spinster for whom the hope of romance springs eternal—except when it means returning Rigsby’s affections; Philip (Don Warrington), the self-proclaimed son of an African tribal chief; and new tenant Seymour (Denholm Elliott, Trading Places, Indiana Jones series, Oscar®-nominee for A Room With a View), an oily con man with designs of his own on Miss Jones.

As always, the inimitable Rossiter is the straw that stirs this comic concoction, which fizzes with outrageous insults, double entendres, and tidbits of slapstick. You’ll see why Rising Damp: The Movie walked off with three honors (including Best Comedy) at the Evening Standard British Film Awards.

SPECIAL FEATURES: Original theatrical trailer, photo gallery, and cast filmographies.

New DVD Series Celebrates Black History Month

“Heroes of Freedom:

The Stories of Harriet Tubman & Rosa Parks”

Available on DVD February 5, 2008

BRISTOL, CT (Jan. 21, 2008)---The life and times of Harriet Tubman and Rosa Parks, two of America’s most enduring heroes of freedom, come alive for children in Heroes of Freedom, a new DVD series about people of courage who changed America. The initial title in the series – “The Stories of Harriet Tubman & Rosa Parks,” arrives in stores February 5, 2008 just in time for Black History Month.

Produced by Mazzarella Media, “The Stories of Harriet Tubman & Rosa Parks,” presents stirring dramatizations, historically accurate reenactments, photographs and colorful maps, which help tell the stories of these two women who worked their entire lives for fairness and freedom.

In “The Stories of Harriet Tubman & Rosa Parks,” young viewers will travel back to 1830 and the cotton fields of a southern plantation. They will experience what life was like for an enslaved person and how Tubman, a slave herself, came to help over 300 slaves escape to freedom as a “conductor” on the infamous “Underground Railroad.” Then young historians are transported to 1955 and a bus stop in Montgomery, Alabama where they experience the unfairness of segregation and the courage of Rosa Parks, whose actions of refusing to give up her seat on a bus was a catalyst for the Montgomery Bus Boycott and subsequent Civil Rights Movement.

The DVD features an interactive menu allowing the viewer to choose various chapters in the program:

· Chapter 1. Harriet’s Life as an Enslaved Person

· Chapter 2. Harriet’s Travels on the Underground Railroad

· Chapter 3. Slavery Ends in America

· Chapter 4. Harriet’s Escape to Freedom

· Chapter 5. Life in Rosa Park’s America

· Chapter 6. The Civil Rights Movement

· Chapter 7. Rosa’s Act of Defiance

Recommended for ages 8-12 and 18 minutes long, Heroes of Freedom programs are perfect for classroom and home viewing. Each title in the series correlates to national and state curriculum standards, uses age-appropriate concepts, and introduces key vocabulary words necessary to understanding the issues surrounding the programs’ content.

Each DVD in the series will retail for $14.95, which includes non-commercial public performance rights for the educational market. A program about Martin Luther King Jr. is planned for a fall release with more titles following in 2009. For more information or to order “The Stories of Harriet Tubman & Rosa Parks” DVD, call 1-800-583-1988 or visit www.mazz.com.

Synopsis:
Divine Intervention is a comedy about a young, hip preacher who becomes the temporary pastor of a small fundamentalist Baptist church in Los Angeles when the long presiding pastor has to take an indefinite leave of absence after suffering a stroke. The handsome and stylish Reverend Robert Gibbs’ flashy and hip style of preaching is immediately embraced by members of the now growing congregation, but is frowned upon by his predecessor, the stern and traditional Reverend Matthews, who does not agree with Gibbs’ trendy tactics or the new commercialized direction in which the church is headed.

Coincidentally, Reverend Gibbs eventually stumbles upon a young lady who sparks his interest but presents a challenge to him. The young, lovely, and witty schoolteacher Divine, initially unbeknownst to Reverend Gibbs, is the daughter of Reverend Matthews and she has lost her faith in God due to losing her mother several years back to cancer. Reverend Gibbs tries to win her over while restoring her faith in God and steering clear of her dry humored and overly protective father in the process.

Reverend Matthews’ prospects of returning to the church eventually lessen and Reverend Gibbs moves closer to assuming a permanent role as pastor of the church. That is until he meets even stronger opposition in the jealous and scandalous Deacon Wells, who attempts to uncover some elements of Reverend Gibbs’ past which may prevent him from winning the seat of permanent pastor of the church and more importantly, a place in the heart of Divine. Divine Intervention is a funny, upbeat spiritual journey about romance, religion, and scandal that will succeed with the ever popular and abundant, urban churchgoing audience and general viewers will embrace it for its warmth, humor and controversy.

I watched Invasion. It reminded me of the defunct show by the same name that aired on ABC in the 2006-07 season. I enjoyed it. The premise was similar to previous movies about aliens being body snatchers. It was an entertaining movie.

The rarely seen kids fantasy film The Hogfather will come to DVD, I think possibly for the first time in America, this Tuesday. Its about and event somewhat like Christmas in a place called Discworld and The Hogfather (kind of like the Santa) goes missing. I watched some of it when it was posted on youtube but the transfer looked horrible so I stopped and thought I'd wait or possibly find a copy from the U.K. that was compatible.

A spinoff of the Batman series. When a distraught Bruce Wayne aka Batman take a hiatus from crime fighting whose left to protect the city streets of Gotham? Enter Helena aka The Huntress, the daughter of Batman and Catwoman who, along with her sidekick Dinah aka The Black Canary, a clarevoyant, kicks much villain behind throughout Gotham city. Under the watchful eye of Batgirl aka The Oracle of course, who was left disabled in a wheelchair by The Joker.

I recall watching it briefly before it got cancelled. I think it came out around the same time as Dark Angel. Apperantly this was Smallville 1.0, made by the same creative team. I don't know weather to say fortunatly or unfortunatly as I have had it up to my ears with Smallville, it was cancelled after only 13 episodes.

Also coming out is Comic fanboy fav Witchblade the series. The comics sparked many a fanboy's pubescent fantasies and the unrealistic perfection of the female form in those comics as compared to Yancy Butler may have been a let down for some in that aspect. As far as the show goes its another one that I devoted a few viewings to before I just didn't have time to remind anyone to record it for me while I was working the graveyard shift. I'll more then likely rent both series just to see if they were as bad as they obviously were seen, both were cancelled, Witchblade evidently made it to two rounds though. From what I hear the animated version of the series is nothing like either the show or the comics but thats just speculation from other consumers. I have yet to see for myself.

I loved both of those shows. Somewhere in another post I had said something about Birds of Prey coming out. I've waited pretty much since tv on dvd starting coming out for this show to do it. When it first came out on tv it was during the downloading phase and I got the first 3 or 4 episodes but they're not that great. But I can't wait to get it where it will be clear and volume can be heard. And I hope they will have some good extra features. I hated that the show got canceled right when they introduced Harley Quinn.
This goes for Witchblade as well. I read the comic for awhile. But then it just became one of those that was costing too much and nothing worth paying that much was happening in it. But the show itself was good. I think they did good with the casting of it.

I watched Birds of Prey. I thought it was a good show, nice Batman spinoff. It on before the CW/WB merge. I believe it was on after Dark Angel bit the dust, which was another great show that was cut too soon.

Futurama: Bender's Game
is the third of the four planned Futurama films.[1] The title appears to be a reference to the Hugo and Nebula award winning novel Ender's Game.

The sneak peek trailer mentions a release date of the holiday season of 2008 in the United States. It was later confirmed to have a November 2008 release.[2] An advertisement on the region 2 DVD of Bender's Big Score stated a release date of November 2008 in the United Kingdom. At Comic-Con, it was confirmed that the release date will be November 4, 2008. It has also been confirmed to have a simultaneous release date on Blu-ray Disc, a first for the Futurama film series[3].

In a comic-con 2007 cast reading previewing the four new movies featured in the Bender's Big Score DVD, it is shown that this chapter in Futurama's adventures will feature a Dungeons & Dragons-like setting where Bender dresses like a knight, Leela is a centaur and the Professor is a wizard. A teaser image depicts Fry as a Gollum-like creature, while the trailer shows him as a dragon. Amy will be appearing as the queen of the "Water Nymphos". Zoidberg will appear as a squid-like blob. Hermes, like Leela, will also become a centaur, as well as a hermaphrodite. According to David X. Cohen, the movie will be Futurama's "first real foray into the fantasy world as opposed to straight sci-fi".[4] The trailer also shows that much of the feature will spoof elements of Peter Jackson's version of The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Additionally, Mom will make a return appearance,[5] possibly as the main antagonist as the trailer seems to suggest, and the Planet Express crew apparently takes their ship to enter the "Space Demolition Derby", likely before the fantasy portion of the film takes place.

Guest stars will include George Takei and Rich Little reprising their roles as their own heads in jars.[6]

A preview of Bender's Game is one of the bonus features on the Beast with a Billion Backs DVD.[5]

According to the Beast with a Billion Backs commentary, the idea to spoof Dungeons and Dragons and the death of its creator, E. Gary Gygax, happened at around the same time, but are coincidences. It is also said in the commentary that this installment will reveal the "dark secret" of Dark Matter.

But it's 30 bucks right now and I bet that's the sale price being it just came out so have a feeling the price will go to 35 to 40 next week, but maybe not.

SYNOPSIS

Brendan Fraser returns as explorer Rick O'Connell in an epic adventure that races from the catacombs of ancient China high into the frigid Himalayas. Along with his son Alex (Luke Ford), wife Evelyn (Maria Bello) and her brother Jonathan (John Hannah), he must stop a mummy awakened from a 2,000-year-old curse from enslaving the world. Doomed by a double-crossing sorceress (Michelle Yeoh) to spend eternity in suspended animation, China's ruthless Dragon Emperor (Jet Li) and his 10,000 warriors have lain forgotten for eons, entombed in clay as a vast, silent terra cotta army. When dashing adventurer Alex O'Connell is tricked into awakening the ruler from eternal slumber, he turns to the only people he can think of with the skill and knowledge to combat the undead: his parents. But the Emperor’s quest for world domination has only intensified during his imprisonment and, with unimaginable supernatural powers and a legion of Terra Cotta Warriors at his command, the Emperor Mummy could be an unstoppable force—unless the O'Connells can vanquish him first.

Thank you very much for posting. I wanted to see this when it was at the theaters and never got around to it. I will definitely add it to my Netflix que in 2 weeks.:rocks:

You will not be disappointed. This is his best movie next to Why Did I Get Married. You will enjoy it.
