Killer Instinct was a video game made around the early 1990's on super nintendo and a major hit in the arcades...later it transferred over to the nintendo 64 and made another appearance in the arcade as one of the best vs. games of all time because of the attacks with combos...
great game that could make a great movie..theres characters like Jago the ninja, Orchid the animal instinct, Fulgore the robot with electric claws, Cinder the flame igniter, Combo the boxer, and more... >-<:war:

Haven't you seen Mrotal Kimbat (any version) or street Fighter (any version). Games of that genre just do not transfer over to film well. There is never a plot within the game other then to create the best kill, which forces the studio's to create their own script for a non-existant plot. Its never good. Besides, I think Owe Boll has damaged the video game film adaptation genre to the point that no one even bothers to see them anymore, Boll directed or not.

1. who the hell is owe ball?
2. i dont mind the fact that they're gonna have to make a creative plot for a movie like this...i mean most of the time, a new creative plot exists in every movie i've ever seen. It just depends on if its good enough, and if people accept it or think of it as garbage.

If ever there was a cancer within the video game to movie adaptation genre, this man would be it. He's created more flops in that area then anyone whose ever tried.
As far as the studio finding someone to make the script for them. Again I say, have you ever seen Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Double Dragon, Super Mario Brothers. The list can go on but why. Some of the movies are enjoyable on a just to ignore level but seriously though, if you want a movie made about your favorite game its better to just pretend it exists within the game then to let it be plagued by the ritualistic systematic routine of video game to film adaptations. Its next to always a failed attempt.

why not? Do u mean ignoring the fact that the movie is based from a video game? I say let it be plagued by the ritualistic systematic routine of video game film makers. Theres nothing to lose -especially for me

I guess if that floats your boat. As long as the genre is percieved as a non-profit joke I doubt there will be an avalanche of video game films. Boll does have Postal coming out soon. If your serious go see that in theaters. It just might broaden your perspective.

i'm actually not serious at all, and postal defines my definition of gay. Uwe Boll needs to get another job and leave it to the Wachowski brothers :)

Every movie I have seen based off a video game has sucked. The best that I have seen is Tomb Raider and that was mainly because who was cast. In general I think that most games have really weak story lines which is fine for a game; but a movie it turns into one of those USA Up All Night things. And out of all the video game genres fighting games are one of the weaker with story lines (unless you count frogger). IMO I wouldn't pay to see Killer Instinct if it was made; but I guess there might be some out there that would.

IMO the video game movie making is still a baby in a diaper. Maybe everyone should be a little more positive...I'll tell u guys how Castelvania and Driver are in 2009....(no garcia im not seeing postal) ;p
