Rarely do you find deals if you are already a customer, but here's one...
If you are already a Comcast customer (or even if you're not), they are running a special for high-speed internet for $19.95/mo. until 12/31/07. I called this morning (404-comcast), and it took 3 minutes to complete the whole deal. Nice to save $23/mo for the remainder of the year for a service I'm going to get regardless.
I did check to see if this is a repost, and all I could find is the $19.99 special for new customers only.
For those of you in the rest of the country, if you are are Comcast subscriber, you could still call and see if there is a similar special, but I do know that it works in Atlanta.
---I just called myself, went to Billing ->Inquiries->HSI-> spoke with a CSR who verified my information. Told the CSR I wanted the $19.99 special deal for HSI for the remainder of the year, took her a few minutes to look over my account info and change whatever parameters in my account and BAM i was done. Took less than 5 minutes and I saved a bunch.

Is there a contract with this? Also, did they mention what price it jumps up to? Can you be considered a new customer if you only have cable tv not internet? (i see that it is for existing customers, but I was just going to see if the new customer deal lasted longer)

Might I suggest www.comcastoffers.com I've heard good things about them.

i also called but you failed to mention that you either have to lease or buy a new modem. is there any way around this??They are giving you the run around. Try going though 800comcast. Just be persistent about the fact that you found a flyer that states a deal for current HSI customers that says you can get the promotional deal for $19.99 for the rest of the year (12/31/07). Here is the thread to my original thread and other people's experiences trying to get this deal...http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/messageview.php?catid=18&threadid=739787&highlight_key=y&keyword1=comcast

From what ive read this is very YMMV depending on what rep you get. Be persistent until you get someone that will honor it.

I was told that I was not eligible for this promotion. The rep was a little bit rude, she said "I don't know where you heard of it, but this is only for new customers only!!" Maybe she got too many similar calls.
But thank you DrewSki for the information! I would not have even known about it.

I have been trying to get the deal for my mom and dad, but have been unsuccessful! When I called for myself it was really really late at night, so maybe that is why it is not working now. I guess I will try again tonight.

As the OP for fatwallet, I am ashamed to say, CockCast screwed me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I talked to the CSR and she said everything was done. Well I get to asking my mom about the HSI bill, and i notice I AM STILL PAYING THE SAME $42.95 RATE!!! I promptly get on the phone to give whoever picks up a earfull and a piece of my mind. The CSR I get then tells me, "There are no inquiries on your account," I ask "What the hell does that mean, what I never called or something?" she tells me that is exactly it. There are NO RECORDS of me ever calling and no changes to my account of any sort, the CSR are supposed to make records of all calls and some how MY DEAL JUST FELL THROUGH THE F*IN CRACKS!!! After a long rant about the customer service being the worst in the nation and how fraudulent their company is because I spoke with and gave alot of information to somewho who apparently doesn't exist at 404-comcast, she eventually gives me the promotion for $33/months for a year. After crunching some numbers while I am on hold, I figured it out to be a $119.40 savings for the $33/12month compared to the $137.70 for the $19.99/6months. Not THAT bad, but that didn't stop me from getting price adjustments refunds for this month and the next THEN my 12 month promotion starts.
CALL IN AND CHECK AND MAKE SURE THE CSR JUST DIDN'T TELL YOU WANT YOU WANTED TO HEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
***Calling 800-Comcast now, this male CSR is going through it right now for the $19.99/6months, tried to talk me out of the $33/12month i just got, I passed on the $33/mont cause I'll be saving more and I'll just grab up another promotion in 6 months so W00T!!!

sorry for the crap time there Drew. I called like 6 or more times and couldn't get the deal, so I called and went to the cancellation department and told them that I wanted to cancel and get DSL, they looked and gave me the 19.99 hsi and 24.95 cable for 6 months! woo hoo! Not sure if in 6 mo they would do it again but that's nice. 2 of my real life friends tried it and got deals too. All a little different but still nice discounts. Thanks for sharing, rep for you!!! You saved me lots of cash for 6 months!:rocks:
