The Return of SAM

1n 1977, NYC was terrorized by David Berkowitz, also known as the Son of Sam. 30 years later in 2007, a NYPD homicide detective comes across a murder of a young NYC couple and finds out that ballistics has matched the bullets to the .44 cailber handgun that Berowitz used in his year long reign of terror on the streets of NYC. When the Police and Press start to get letters containing text that is the same handwriting as berowitz rants back in '77, they fear that the guy they have had in jail for the last 30 years is the either the wrong guy or part of a conspriracy that touches upon the ocult. This NYPD detective partners up with a member from the old unit that caught the orginal Son of Sam and try to put a stop to this killer before he terrorizes a city that still has not fully healed from the horror that happened 30 years ago!

So I know there are holes in it, like the gun and ballistics...But there was a book written that had an interview with son of sam that he stated that he was only one of the killers, there were more out there that were not caught...I know it would make a great movie, but would NYC really want to see a movie made about this and be reminded what happened back then?

Sounds very familiar. I'll have to get abck to you on this but I know there is a film or a book already out there that your idea pretty much envelopes.
