The T4 Project

THE T4 VIRUS IS SPREADING!!
The Much-Rumored T4 PROJECT Holds the Cure!
Featuring Members of Pennywise, Bad Religion, Circle Jerks, Buzzcocks,
The Damned, Strung Out, and more!

Contrary to the beliefs of conservative parental figures everywhere, punk was never about dividing and creating chaos, but instead unifying and building. And what better example of punk's pure message than with The T4 Project. Much more than just a supergroup, it's a true community of artists unifying three decades of punk and hardcore musicians. The T4 Project: Story-Based Concept Album (release date: May 13, 2008 on Mental Records) is a music collective headed by intensely creative visionary Shannon Saint Ryan that captures the true spirit of a punk rock revolution in this powerful collection of songs, compelling background story concept, and the impressive array of musicians called together to collaborate on this exceptionally unique and dynamic release. This accomplished work spanned over two and a half years in the making and was recorded in seven different studios on two continents and featuring over a dozen established artists from a host of seminal punk bands and some of the most hard-hitting, impactful musicians from today’s hottest alternative acts including Pennywise, Bad Religion, Circle Jerks, Buzzcocks, The Damned, Strung Out, Porno for Pyros, Nina Hagen Band, The Screamers, Subhumans, Naked Aggression, Glass & Ashes, Le Meu Le Purr and more. Conceived and produced by Saint Ryan with lyrics by Strung Out’s Jason Cruz, The T4 Project also features a riveting 24 page graphic novel story-booklet that delivers a darkly sobering yet ultimately inspiring transcendent message for the modern age.

Like this generation's The Wall or Quadrophenia, The Story-Based Concept Album isn't so much an album as it is a punk rock epic - complete with a compelling storyline and message. As a metaphor of the virus as a spreader of corruption and authoritative propaganda to the impressionable youth of today, Saint Ryan and his band of seminal musicians unfurl a story of rebellion and triumph over the ugly face of adversity. "The virus represents what is corrupt. It's all business, politics, corruption," Saint Ryan explains. "It's a serious message with a tongue-in-cheek edge."

Though Saint Ryan was the overall visionary for the project and story, he enlists the help of Strung Out's Jason Cruz to write the actual lyrics to the songs. Cruz's lyrics capture the emotion of the characters, while Saint Ryan's descriptions capture the action. "Shannon gave me carte blanche," says Cruz. "He gave me the story and I really admire him for trusting me, because sometimes my interpretation of what he wrote was a little abstract."

Comprised of a venerable collective of UK and US punk and hardcore musicians, The T4 Project bridges generations of punk through powerful and inciteful music and lyrics. The album is interwoven with a series of "pseudo-commercials interludes" that surge with biting social satire and political commentary, that furthers along the story-telling process. The music and 24-page graphic novel/booklet unfolds naturally, providing an aural narration to the artistic panels and storyboards within. Kicking off with the driving "Introduction" and culminating in the hopeful but no less pummeling album closer "Resolution", it's an album of rebellion and solution. The first single, "15 Minutes" unleashes a rhythm section comparable to QOTSA or even Fugazi.

All-encompassing and inspiring, The T4 Project encapsulates the true message of punk, instilling a sense of responsibility and purpose to those it inspires. With the increasing decline of Western Civilization, Saint Ryan and his community is creating the insurgence, holding the The Story-Based Concept Album as its torch. The Revolution has begun!
