Channing Tatum, Ralph Fiennes & Tilda Swinton Say Hail Caesar!

The Coen brothers can certainly pick their ensembles well. And they’re at it again for their latest, period Hollywood comedy Hail Caesar! The eclectic trio of Channing Tatum, Tilda Swinton and Ralph Fiennes are all in negotiations to join the cast.

Joel and Ethan Coen’s latest pokes into the world of Hollywood fixers and private eyes, who dug up dirt and kept stars in line during the 1950s. Eddie Mannix is our hero, working for the studios to make sure no sleazy stories break around the actors in their movies. The film already boasts Coen veterans George Clooney and Josh Brolin.

Tatum, whose career has surged in the last few years and seen him work with a variety of great directors, appears to be continuing his run. He’s on to play a Gene Kelly-type name, while Fiennes is up to play Laurence Lorenz, a salaried studio director. Swinton, meanwhile, will be on the other side of the studio gates, hunting for juicy stories as a gossip columnist.

Fiennes recently finished shooting Russian drama Mesyats v Derevne and is expected to be back on duty as M in the next Bond film. Swinton is at work on Judd Apatow’s latest comedy, Trainwreck, while Tatum has awards-buzzed drama Foxcatcher due at Christmas and the Wachowskis’ Jupiter Ascending, which recently shifted to next year.
