'iZombie' Renewed for Second Season

The CW's new hit zombie drama iZombie has been renewed by the network, EW is reporting.

The series, developed by Rob Thomas and starring Rose McIver, is based on a comic book by the same name created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred. The show follows a medical student named Liv (McIver) who is turned into a flesh-eating zombie and now works at a morgue in order to satisfy her "cravings."

The first season saw critical acclaim in its inaugural run and drew decent ratings from the networks. iZombie was one of The CW's series that was on the bubble for renewal this year, along with Hart of Dixie and The Messengers, neither of which have been officially renewed or canceled yet.

The iZombie season finale airs May 19, 2015 on The CW.
