'Unbreakable' Sequel 'Glass' Arriving in 2019

M. Night Shyamalan put any twists on hold and in the most straightforward fashion announced that he has finished the script to what will be the sequel to both Unbreakable and Split. The third film in the trilogy will be titled Glass and will be released on January 18, 2019, the director revealed on Twitter.

Earlier this year, Shyamalan surprised everyone when the end of Split featured a cameo by Bruce Willis as David Durn, revealing that the film takes place within Unbreakable's universe. Since then, fans have been wondering when we'll get a proper sequel to what many consider to be Shyamalan's best film.

Glass will see the return of Bruce Willis as David Durn and Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price/Mr. Glass from Unbreakable. It will also feature Split's James McAvoy as Kevin Wendell Crumb and his various other personalities including The Beast, and  Anya Taylor Joy as Casey Cooke.

"My new film is the sequel to #Unbreakable AND #Split. It was always my dream to have both films collide in this third film" he said in a series of Tweets. "It’s taken 17 years but I can finally answer the #1 question I get, “Are you making a f#&@ing sequel to Unbreakable or what?”

Glass will be produced in partnership with Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions.
