Growing off of the enormous $500k+ weekend in only 33 cities, Paramount announced it's initiative to bring Paranormal Activity nationally. Paranormal Activity aims to become the first major film release to be determined by the public. Once the film hits 1,000,000 demands on "DEMAND IT", it it will open wide. The film currently sits at just under 400,000. In addition to the national opening, one lucky fan will be selected to host a VIP screening in their hometown with the film's writer/director/producer Oren Peli. This weekend, the film will open in 12 more cities (Boston, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Cleveland, El Paso, Hampton Roads, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Portland, Salt Lake City and Toronto) as well as expand the showtimes past only midnight screenings in the existing cities. The film will also open at the University of Massachusetts Amherst as a nod to the large college demand for the movie. If it's not in your city, you can continue to "Demand It" at http://www.eventful.com/paranormalactivity Title: Paranormal Activity Starring: Katie Featherston, Micah Sloat, Mark Fredrichs Director: Oren Peli Studio: Paramount MPAA Rating: |
