Pounders

Rock trio POUNDERS recently premiered the lead single, “Separate Ways” off their upcoming, untitled album on PureVolume. The track is now available for free download through the band’s official SoundCloud.

Last thing you drank?

A nice cocktail of the blood, sweat and tears of the innocent. A drink of immortals.

A word you have been guilty of using incorrectly?

Inconceivable. You keep Using That Word, I Do Not Think It Means What You Think It Means

Do you have good balance?

Sober, Yes. Inebriated, even better.

Something you do to clear your mind?

Chase the sun and throw on some Portlandia

Did you participate in March Madness?

No, my madness runs year round.

Best midnight snack?

Whiskey mixed chocolate Nesquik. Aka Chocolate Malt Liquor.

Is your phone on vibrate?

Still using carrier pigeons but they do like to shake it as well.

Have you ever been in a helicopter?

I've been in HELLA copters.

Your influences range from punk and rock to dance and hip-hop. Is it difficult to juggle all of those styles in your performance?

Not at all. We dont try to mimic our influences, they just come out organically. Our influences are so ingrained in our personal styles of playing, that they have become our own unique sound.

You have each had done a lot of moonlighting outside of the band including work with 30 Seconds to Mars, Neon Trees and auditioning for The X Factor. Have any of these other projects effected Pounders in good or bad ways?

All of our experiences and journeys are positive. In the end, they made us the musicians and people that we are today. Even through rejections and set backs, you learn and grow. You have to make everything into a positive.
