Several of the major battle scenes had to be re-shot, as extras were seen wearing sunglasses and wristwatches.

In the first of two releases (along with Gladiator) in the "Sapphire Series", Paramount plans to showcase their best award-winning movies (assumingly, Best Pictures winners, as we see here).  Braveheart is a long (at 177 minutes) but rewarding movie that will suck you into the story.

QUALITY:
Fantastic.  The picture will blow you away, if the sound doesn't first.

BONUS FEATURES:
Historical timelines, commentary, featurettes

An amazing movie with an amazing director and an amazing actor that has since gone astray.  Whether or not Mel Gibson recovers from his Tom Cruise-replacing behavior is yet to be seen but, along with a bunch of Lethal Weapon movies, Gibson leaves us with this one amazing, unforgettable and lasting effort.  Braveheart is easily one of the best period epics ever and will stand the test of time.  The 'Sapphire Series" does the movie justice, now we must hope they do the same to 'Titanic'.
