Demon Stone

Demon Stone

(Atari)
Ship Date:
Wednesday, May 5, 2004
Grade:
C+

You control the actions for three characters, a sorcerer, a rogue, and a fighter as they attempt to defeat Slaad Lord and Githyanki. These two are the generals of two demon armies. If not defeated in time the world will meet certain destruction. The story was wrote by R.A. Salvatore and voice actors include Patrick Stewart and Michael Clark Duncan.

The graphics for this game are pretty good as are the voice actors. The game play is interesting with the ability to switch which character you are fighting with during battle and as many times as you like. However the battles are standard button mashing and at times the camera views create difficulty. The game has a D&D/Forgotten Realms feel which fans of those genres will love. You are given the ability to up-grade your characters between each level; but if you are not comfortable enough to choose on your own then you have the auto button to do it for you (this you may choose to do anyway). This game started out at $40 but has since dropped its price down to around $18 which is best since the average time to complete the game is between 8 hours to maybe 3 days if you take your time. If you are still unsure about spending almost $20 for a game that won’t last very long you may want to rent it. While the game is fun for fans of role-playing/adventure games the replay value is low; but that is true for most games of this genre.
