Drapht's "The Life of Riley" is an interesting listen. My first experience with Drapht's music even though this is his fourth release. The album, being a fan of the spirit of hip-hop, is refreshing because it sounds like 'normal' rap. The beats are infectious and I can actually understand 98% of every lyric. Which in comparison to my native Atlanta rap, I can understand about 50%.
I think that it adds a certain dimension to the fact that Drapht is from Australia. I like that as an American, I can see how far hip-hop has spread it's wings. After this listen, I will definitely go back and listen to his other 3 albums. I'm interested in his story and would like to see how far his music has come since his first album. I would definitely recommend this one.
