Hot Shots Golf Fore! brings a bit of humor and cartoon to the game of golf. There are numerous different types of characters to open, for example a ninja, a gangster, a surfer, and a little girl. There is also the ability to open Jak from the Jak and Daxter games. This game also has many different ways to play; a tournament, versus the computer, or pick a par 3 course and perfect your game. In multi-player mode you can play 3, 6, 9, or 18 holes against your friends. If you want a little less of a serious course try playing the mini golf courses.

This game is very addictive once you get the hang of the controls. Easy Mode makes hitting the ball easier; but you can not hit as far. When you start playing a round quitting or restarting the game is a little more complicated than hitting the start button. You need to push start, select, L1, L2, R1, and R2 all at the same time. But once you get the controls down the game is a lot of fun. Each character has many jeers and cheers, and the longer you play with one the more you character will do. This is a fun golf game and not quite as serious as the Tiger Woods games.
