War Dancer

Jesse Thomas is a young singer/songwriter who originally hails from Covington, Kentucky. Now based in LA, she recently released her debut album, War Dancer. It’s 11 tracks of reflections on life and love, with a mix of country, folk and pop. If that’s your cup of tea musically, you should definitely check this out. She’s got a beautiful voice, with a good amount of earthiness and soul. 

While this album really isn’t my speed, musically speaking, it’s really well done. Thomas almost has this neo-Janis Joplin thing going on, which is pretty cool. Check it out if that sounds intriguing or if you’re in the mood for some reflective music with a lot of heart.
