Man Made Machine: Become

(Man Made Machine)
Release Date:
Tuesday, September 27, 2011

The album was produced by Chad Grey and Greg Tribbett of Mudvayne and HELLYEAH and was mixed by Jeremy Parker (Godsmack/Evanescence).

Man Made Machine is another one of those bands that pops up and you can’t help but feel you’ve been there and done that already. A mostly heavily constructed album combines the basic elements of the rock message; being a bad ass, drinking, women, rock and roll, a few F bombs here and there. Its back to basics here and with such a generalization of sound its sure to become a staple for rockers who don’t know any better or who like their rock bands straight forward without much depth. Blaring guitars, vocals that range from a decent flatness to a yell, drums that rampage through the album. Its not all heavy as the band does include a couple of tracks that are tamer but most of it was blending through tracks.

For sure the bands album, Become, is a toe tapping little splash of rock and roll and it will probably garner a nice shelf life, for a month or so. It just felt to me like the band is either going to burn itself out if it keeps moving forward at this pace relying on its atmosphere or its going to attempt to take its current sound, one that doesn’t do much to rise above its peers, and mold it into something that is going to endure. Time will tell, but for now I can’t bring myself to toss to much praise in Man Made Machine’s direction. As always final judgment is yours.
