Listening to new music can be something of a gamble, I never know if I will have a band play something that I will like or not. Being that I write reviews for said new music I also have another gamble, will people like my review or not. Knowing that what I write will have an impact on someone that's reading it about a band that they like or dislike means that I have to give the songs a better amount of attention before I write the review. Though there are times that I don't have to worry about having to listen to the songs over and over again to get the gist of the music and with the new album Yes by Michael Bernard Fitzgerald, I found that I was liking what I was hearing on the first time.

First thing that I noticed about the songs on this album is that it's a fun and has quirky beats. There's a mixture of sounds being used in this music that don't get stale or old while listening to it. Yes is fun to listen to with some catchy beats being played and lyrics that made me want to know the words so that I could sing along with them. When the first song “Man Overboard” began playing it kind of threw me for loop because I didn't think that I would like something that sounded both good and a little off key. But I did and with each song that played I was liking each one more and more.

This is not the greatest album that I've listened to and I'm sure there are going to be people out there that will say that I'm wrong. What I will say though that this album, even though it is one that has lyrics that don't make me change my point of view, the vocals have moments of being off key, but the songs are good. They are upbeat, they have energy, they do what a lot of albums don't do and that's give a different sound from one song to the next, and they are just fun to listen. Yes is one of those albums that gets played when I want to just have a quick pick me up in my mood or sing along with while I'm going to work and it's this energy that that makes me like Yes.
