How much do you really know about UFOs and the chance of extraterrestrial beings? Where do you get your information regarding these universal mysteries? How do you know who or what to believe exactly? These are the questions that attempt to be answered and uncovered in this new documentary titled “Mirage Men.” They discuss the supposed cover-ups, conspiracies, and government tactics used to find out public perception and information manipulation to prevent the leak of the facts. The documentary has already received a lot of praise and recognition and it is available for purchase to stream as of March 27, 2014 on www.yekra.com.
I love some aspects of sci-fi and the usual conspiracy theory here and there to get me thinking about issues and things I never really thought of contemplating before. “Mirage Men” is sure to get you thinking and questioning everything and anything UFO or “alien” related, but not to the point that you would want to do something about it. They scratch the surface of the conspiracy theories in the UFO community, but will only deeply impact those that feel so strongly about it. There is a lot of strong evidence, actual footage, and even a former government agent whose sole task was to find out what the public knew and feed them the wrong information. The documentary is well put together and it did cover an interesting topic, but the pacing was a bit too slow and did not offer much in entertainment value to general audiences.
The music was well done and added a lot to the eerie vibe of the documentary, but the content was not mind-blowing enough to hold my attention until the end. If you are into UFOs, government cover-ups, and the chance of life outside of earth, this might be the documentary for you. However, it might not hold the same appeal for general audiences or people that don’t take those mysteries as seriously. For those reasons, I am giving “Mirage Men” a “C-.”
