Moral Orel: Volume 1 (Unholy Edition)

For the two people who have been demanding it, here’s Moral Orel, the Adult Swim spoof on the old claymation cartoon Davey and Goliath. This show has its occasional rise in humor but really doesn’t deliver enough continuous material to fill even its minimal timeslot. I never thought I’d say this, but continuously cracking jokes at the hyper-conservative Christian thought process does eventually get old. You need a break from the same joke once in a while. After two episodes I felt like I was watching a quasi-intellectual variation of Ow, My Balls!.

On the plus side, those that are a fan of the series get a sack of extras to enjoy. Starting off is a video of the Adult Swim panel at the San Diego Comic Con with options for commentary from Dino, The Venture Bros. (Doc Hammer/Jackson Publick), or audio from the panel itself. Then there’s a 10 minute behind-the-scenes featurette, end animations, and deleted scenes. There’s also a collection of promo spots, but you’d already have the show so I don’t really see the point.

Make this a rental if you haven’t been able to catch the show previously. I can’t give the show enough credit to suggest that it’s worth a purchase.
