Allen Bauer (Tom Hanks) is a workaholic who can not maintain a steady relationship; but when an unusual woman rescues himfrom drowning his perspective on life changes. When Madison’s (Daryl Hannah) secret that she is a mermaid is discovered by the world Allen has to make a choice. It is up to him and his brother (John Candy) to rescue her from scientist.

This is your typical romantic comedy from the ‘80’s. It is also cool seeing Tom Hanks so young and John Candy in his prime. The bonus features impressed me. There are interviews with Ron Howard, Tom Hanks, Daryl Hannah, John Candy, and others from the past and the present. I also learned several things including that Touchstone Pictures was created because of the movie Splash. If you are a Tom Hanks fan this is not bad to add to your collection.
