Sam is a young boy that has bad dreams and to help alleviate the trauma he cuts himself.  He is spending the summer with his father who has no idea what to do about Sam. Driving one day they have a wreck and an old man comes to their aid. Ben allows them to leave at his farm for free as long as Sam’s dad helps out around the farm. Sam gets a bad feeling about Ben and for good reason. Ben is none other than the devil and he is waiting for someone to trick into eating from the tree of life. He has his eyes on Sam’s father. Sam will have to stay strong in his faith to save his father and the world.

Imagine if someone decided to take a bible story and turn it into some really cheesy B horror thriller flick. Well that is what The Garden is. There is violent killing with really bad looking blood spraying everywhere, creepy dead people with their mouths sewn shut running around, and horrible lines about the end of the world. For the devil Ben they got Lance Henriksen so that should help even further give you an idea of what kind of movie this is. The problem with this movie is it takes itself too seriously so the bad nature around the movie is just bad not funny. There are some bonus features on this DVD and that surprised me. Commentary by the director, behind the scenes, the trailer, and a still gallery give you a whole bunch of stuff that you will probably never watch because the bad taste left from this overly “Christian” thriller will leave a bad taste in your mouth.
