Continuing the series of Benni Harper amateur sleuth Earlene Fowler brings you Seven Sisters.  This time around Benni’s stepson Sam tells her that he wants to marry his pregnant girlfriend and cop Bliss Girard. Benni fears what her husband’s reaction will be and is uncertain how the meeting with Bliss’s parents will go at the Seven Sisters Ranch. But soon that is pushed slightly aside when Giles Norton is murdered. Now Benni finds herself having to help Sheriff Hudson in the investigation. But when the secret truth comes out about the deaths of four of the seven Brown sisters families are divided.

Seven Sisters is an easy read providing enjoy on a trip to the beach or just a lazy day. The main character Benni is a strong willed independent woman that can certainly captivate you. It is a fairly intriguing mystery with some twists thrown in and even though you will probably be able to guess the ending it does have its charm. Also a unique twist is that even when things are solved at the end it is not neatly resolved.

There are a few things though that fans of this series may find their selves missing. Gabe and Dove have been downgraded to minor characters and their dialog is missed. This causes it not to flow quite as well as past books in the series. Still it is a decent mystery novel and one that fans will want to pick up to continue the series.
