You make your character based off of what you answer in their short little survey. This will make you drift towards either a jock, artsy, smart, etc. There are not too many options though. From there the game gets kind of repetitive and a little boring.
You wake up on Monday and head to school. Here is where you can talk to people, get to know them, get phone numbers, maybe set up a date, be asked favors or ask for favors. However you can probably only talk to maybe 3 sometimes 4 people before it is off to class. Once again you can choose which class to go to. Fast forward, well actually the game does that for you. If you have a job or are in a club it will stop for a moment to show you participating; but you do not have control. Then fast forward again and Saturday happens. This is where you can call people that you have collected phone numbers for, get online to shop or explore, study, and if you are lucky enough go out on a date. Then it is Monday again.
Now you will need to try to talk to people as often as you are given a chance (when the game isn’t skipping time for you) because this is how you get dates. But you need to talk to several different people to learn more about your interest and to get phone numbers. Just to let you know sometimes it can be difficult to find who you are looking for in the short amount of time you are given before you have to get to class.
The game had a chance, it really did. The main problem for me is that besides choosing your outfit and who you talk to there is no freedom. You have one day each week to talk to people, one day for clubs/job (which you do not actual play that part), and one “free” day where you are pretty much locked in your room unless you have a date. That is why it can get really boring really fast. On the plus side though the game is pretty short so if you can hang in there you may grow attached to your character and then feel accomplished that you finished the game. Also since you probably won’t be able to talk to everyone you can go back and play it again without it completely being a repeat. For me though I think once was enough, it is a shame you don’t actually get to really look around or do much with your character. If they changed that this game could have really been a lot of fun instead of bearable.
