You can
play this game either in quick one-off record-breaker
races and events or you can go for the career and play the
world circuit where you can take on challenges like
drifting, near miss, speed, eliminator, grand prix, maniac
and more. Logging medals and awards along the way, you
can move up in the rankings, racing classic (fake)
American cars, hot rods and more.
One of the greater features of this game is, while you are
moving up in the racing world, there are also
mini-challenges that you can rack up in order to earn
trophies (starting with, of course, Rookie.). Outside of
winning a race, you will have to focus on how many boost
chains you get, overall maniac points you collect as well
as near-misses and hundreds of others.
If Grand Theft Auto is the Mario for
psychotic people, then Burnout is the Gran
Turismo for road-rage drivers. The PSP version of the
game is nearly 100% identical to it’s PS2 counterpart (the
PS3 Burnout 4 is promised later in the year) and,
surprisingly, never gets lost on the small screen. All in
all, Burnout Dominator is easily one of the most
fun games of the year and lives up to its predecessors.
