Artist: Adam Green Album: Minor Love Genre: Rock Label: Fat Possum Tracks: 14 Type: LP Release Date: February 16, 2010 Rating: () Grade: C- Minor Love sounds more like a sampling of music rather than a full fledged album. The tracks are short and sweet and tend to vary in terms of quality. One thing that stands out the most is the difference between the lyrics and the actual music. The melodies created by Adam's guitar and drums creates an uplifting atmosphere. The lyrics, on the other hand, can be rather disheartening at times. They tend to talk about random nonsense or typical happenings throughout the day that really don't have a point. Minor Love is very simplistic and easy listening at its easiest. I do wish the songs could have been longer. By the time you begin to either like or hate them, they are over. Depending on how you feel, this could be good or bad. I'd be interested in listening to Green's previous albums but I personally don't think he'll be making it as a regular on my playlist. |
