If you’re confused about this CD, you’re not alone. When it showed up in the mail, I had no clue what it was. I mean, obviously you’ve got Batman and I’m aware that The Brave and the Bold is his new cartoon. But the Music Meister? What the H?

Well here’s the deal. This short album (really more of an EP at only 8 tracks and about 19 minutes) is the soundtrack from one episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Yep, you read that right. ONE episode. It just so happened to be a musical episode starring the voice of Neil Patrick Harris (good ole NPH!!) as a singing villain, dubbed the Music Meister. These are mostly his songs from that episode, along with a few additional vocals from other members of the regular cast.

It’s not a bad little CD, very much in the vein of musical theatre. For what it is, the music is very well done and pretty fun (and this is coming from someone who hasn’t even seen the episode). That said, it is very short and something of a niche release. It’s not bad, just not something that will likely appeal to huge audience.
