Artist: Fastball Album: Little White Lies Members: Tony Scalzo, Joey Shuffield, Miles Zuniga Genre: Rock Label: Red Distribution Tracks: 12 Type: LP Release Date: April 14, 2009 Discs: 1 Rating: () Grade: B+ You Don't Say? Fastball are named after their collective favorite porno. Fastball are an alt-rock outfit from Austin, Texas that have been around since 1994. Little White Lies is their first new album in five years. Having never listened to Fastball before, I can’t really comment on how this compares to their past efforts. However, I was really struck by the strength of their vocal harmonies. More than once while listening, I was reminded of The Beatles, with their incredibly catchy vocal sounds. Musically, Fastball is also a little reminiscent of the Fab Four, but without being too derivative. It’s catchy and fun, just like music for summer (or almost summer) should be. Beyond that, there’s not much to say about the album. If you’re a fan, definitely check this out. |
