The story revolves around a woman that tortures virgins and uses their blood to stay young. Very much like the real life story of Elizabeth Bathory, maybe just a tiny bit more gruesome. I was hoping for a greater level of creativity on Danzig’s part; but was given just a rehashed tale that has been told time and time again. This time though it is told in way of a poem that in itself is fairly weak and borders childlike. There is also an issue with misspellings throughout the whole book and even on the spine of the book the title is misspelled.
The good thing about “Drukijia” is the artwork. I found it to be fantastic. It may not be for the faint of heart as it depicts brutal and bloody deaths along side a scantily clad Drukijia. But if you are into a darker art this is certainly worth a peek. Or if you rather here is his official site: http://simonbisleygallery.com/.
