Title: Changing Lanes Genre: Drama Starring: Ben Affleck, Samuel L. Jackson, Toni Collette, William Hurt, Amanda Peet, Syndey Pollack Director: Roger Michell Studio: Paramount Runtime: 98 Minutes Release Date: May 19, 2009 Format: BLU-RAY MPAA Rating: Rating: () Grade: C+ ERASED & REPLACED A day after the terrorist attacks on the USA of 11 September 2001, Roger Michell had the WTC towers digitally removed from the opening main title sequence in the film. In the DVD commentary, he admitted that it was a mistake to erase them and make it appear as if they did not exist. During the re-editing of the film, Michell reinserted them as a tribute. Ben Affleck and Samuel L. Jackson are both actors who have routinely and steadily appeared in lackluster or great movies. Changing Lanes falls somewhere in between. QUALITY: BONUS FEATURES: The movie is strange because you don't really feel for either character whole-heartedly. Each one commits acts that are very immoral and each one has a moment or two of redemption. The movie doesn't have all that great of a flow to it, leaving you a little disconnected through the end. |
