Title: Hanger Edition: Unrated Genre: Adult, Horror, Mature Audience Starring: Dan Ellis, Wade Gibb, Nathan Dashwood, Candice Le, Ronald Patrick Thompson Director: Ryan Nicholson Studio: Vicious Circle Films Runtime: 90 minutes Release Date: November 17, 2009 Format: DVD Discs: 1 Rating: () Grade: F Be Warned Explicit Scenes This movie has very explicit scenes with graphic nudity and violence. From Ryan Nicholson, the acclaimed writer-director of the cult hit Gutterballs, comes this gruesome horror tale in which revenge is sweet and sick and twisted and definitely served cold a balls-to-the-wall story of vengeance and murder that rises to new heights of perverse action and macabre behavior. Eighteen years ago, nine-months-pregnant Rose (B-Movie Hall of Fame acting legend Debbie Rochon), a wrong-side-of-the-tracks prostitute, was killed when her pimp gave her an abortion with a hanger. Now, the deformed, surviving child (Nathan Dashwood, TV s Smallville ), who was thrown in the dumpster, left for dead and mockingly called Hanger, is about to settle the score and any street trash, sex degenerate of murderous pimp better beware. Reminiscent of low-budget classics from the like of directors Lloyd Kaufman (who appears here as Melvina the Tranny) and Herschell Gordon Lewis, Hanger carves a brutal and tasty slice of blood and guts in which no one is safe, no matter how fast they can run or how loud they can scream. That’s the official description of this movie, one in which my description will not be so kind to this movie. If there was a lower grade than an F that I could give this film I would. In fact I don’t even think going all the way down to Z as a grade would be an accurate enough rating for this movie. In the official description of Hanger there is only two words that describes Hanger and those are sick and twisted. I’ll go further by adding in disgusting, demented, useless, and horrible. If that don’t tell you my thoughts let me go into further detail. This movie is about a guy getting revenge for a abortion that happened that ended up with the baby living. The detail given when the abortion happens is so graphic that it would fit better in an adult film. It seems like the only reason this film was made was to be sick and disgusting. But if the film itself wasn’t bad enough the acting of the cast is just as bad. I’ve seen better acting with some high school students trying to perform Shakespeare for the first time while in front of a large audience. If it was just the bad acting I could have given some slack to this film but with there being no real plot other than just showing gore and nudity while being sick and disgusting I just wanted Hanger to be over. In all the movies that I’ve seen in my life this has so far been the worst movie I have ever seen and I will let everyone I know that they should steer clear of Hanger. |
