Title: Leap Frog: Letter Factory Genre: Family Director: Roy Allen Smith Studio: Lionsgate Runtime: 35 Minutes Release Date: May 12, 2009 Format: DVD Discs: 1 MPAA Rating: Rating: () Grade: A Leap Frog presents Letter Factory, a place where you can have fun while learning about letters and their sounds. In this adventure Leap, Lily, and Tad are rushing to help their Father prepare a talking dictionary sample for a no nonsense Bigwig. Lily and Leap already know their letter sounds but Tad doesn’t which means he’s left out, but with the help of Professor Quigley Tad goes on a simple but effective adventure that will help him and your kids learn their letter sounds. Take the music and fun of School House rock and the animation styles from shows like Ducktails and Cyberchase and you’ve got the world of leap frog educational DVD’s starring Leap, Lily, and Tad. You’ve got music, you’ve got character, but most importantly you have a steady pace and repeat lessons all crammed into a 35 minute show. I was completely in awe at how great these DVD’s are put together. The letters have character which helps kids remember and their pronunciations are used in everyday words spoken clear and utilized in many different words. On top of an educational experience you also get a decent storyline as well. As a bonus feature you have the letter game which is interactive using your remote, another basic but effective educational tool on the DVD. Professor Quigley will ask you to help him find a letter, get it wrong to many times and a screen drops down and shows you a clip from the feature to help remind you, get it right and you get a surprise. Simple yet fantastic. Well worth the money ($8.99 Amazon) and it will have your kids sounding out their letters in no time. Enjoy. |
