Toted as the “Greatest Concert Movie Ever” by the Rolling Stones Stop Making Sense has a lot to live up to, even though half of what Rolling Stones prints these days seems questionable, they might have this one halfway right. Still, there can be no doubt that Stop Making Sense is in fact one of the greatest concert films of all time. Powered by an ingenious build up of music pieced together song by song by one instrument followed by another and another and another the momentum is simply frantic by the films end and your left wanting more.

QUALITY:
Not the best Blu-Ray transfer but I can see how the film has been cleaned up exceptionally from its earlier format (watch either of the bonus songs in the special features to see the difference) and there is also that artistic integrity that is savored on the film itself which gives the overall visual some individuality. Think if when they transferred Schindler’s List to Blu-Ray they did the whole thing in color. This is kind of the same concept. Your going to want that integrity transferred over even if that means your not going to be getting an absolutely perfect picture. In that its up to you weather or not your going to want to spring for the BD for this film. Sound quality has been remastered under the supervision of David Byrne and director Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs). Fantastic quality sound that brings the show to you. That alone is worth the purchase.
