William Castle was known mostly for his gimmicky films that included a variety of stunts and promotions that attracted publicity. For the first time, you can own eight of his most notable thriller/horror films in one DVD collection. 

Included in this five disc set are 13 Frightened Girls, 13 Ghosts, Homicidal, Strait-Jacket, The Old Dark House, Mr. Sardonicus, The Tingler, and Zotz! Each of the films includes a variety of their own special features so there is plenty of content to watch. Many of the gimmicks in the film were only in the theaters so having them on DVD eliminates part of the experience. 

13 Ghosts, for example, had some scenes shot in "Illusion-O" where, depending on if you look through red or blue cellophane, you can see the ghosts of the film or not. While it's cool in theory, it would have been nice to have the viewers included with the collection, as the feature is still there. 

If you're a fan of classic thriller films then the William Castle Film Collection is a great set to own. Not only are many of the films good, but the special features go into much detail about them, including their theater gimmicks. Add the fact that you're getting eight films at a decent price and you have a winner on your hands.
