She takes pleasure in killing and has become cold to the world. But when she receives her next assignment she finds out that perhaps she does have a heart when she can not kill a father and his teenage daughter. Now she must protect them against the evil Hand (a group of ninja’s) in order to save the world.
While Garner may kick ass in Alias during Elektra she appears stiff, boring, and one dimensional. The drastic change in her personality from Daredevil causes a huge gap making this movie seem less like a spin-off a more like a story of a completely different character. The plot is incredibly weak, the story drags, and the movie reaches no real climax. The final fight is lack luster and reaches an end too easily. Elektra is supposed to be one of the greatest fighters alive, yet there is no proof of that through this movie. The effects in this movie aren’t terrible; it is that they just start in the middle and just out of nowhere. The very sad thing about this movie is that I actually found myself wishing for Ben Affleck to help save the movie. The bonus features were not much better having a making of, few deleted scenes (one having Ben Affleck), and a making of. The only decent bonus feature is the sneak peak at the new season of Family Guy. Unless you have a thing for Jennifer Garner, I would suggest not even glancing at this movie.
