RATING: 3.79 (out of 4.00)

While H.I.M. has embraced these three genres to create a style and sound of their own fans of just metal or just glam-rock might find it hard to enjoy if they feel that there should be set standards in their music. I for one though found this album to be completely enjoyable.

I found some similarities between H.I.M. and Type O; not in vocals but in what the songs deal with. Vampires and dark loves the songs are deep and soulful. The singing range from soft almost whispers to angry yells. There are only a few flaws I found with this album. One there are at times an almost poppy quality which can take you out of the moment. The other thing is Dark Light is only 10 tracks, and while sometimes leaving the audience wanting more is a good thing, making the audience feel that they were slightly gypped on the price is another.
