The Sony Playstation 3 has been in need of an amazing game for a while. Well, that time has come with Ninja Gaiden Sigma. In Ninja Gaiden Sigma, you take control of Ryu Hayabusa of the Dragon Ninja Clan. The legendary Dark Dragon Blade has been stolen and it is your duty to reclaim the dangerous blade and restore order.

RATING: 4.25 (out of 4.00)

For starters, this is the third remake of a classic that was originally on the Xbox. First there was Ninja Gaiden, then Ninja Gaiden Black, and now Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Usually such an overused game would be boring and not fun at all. Sigma definitely brings a fresh coat of paint to the game. There are many new additions to the game including improved graphics, new playable character, Rachel, and more missions.

InoCiv: The graphics are simply stunning. Running at 60 frames per second, the combat is smooth and crisp. The controls are excellent as well. The transfer from Xbox to Playstation 3 controllers is great as well. The transition between moves is seamless. Another aspect that stands out is the difficulty. It is more difficult than other games of the same genre. The AI is much smarter and requires timing and skill. So don’t quit after you’ve died many times and had to restart the mission. As you play the game on the harder difficulties, the enemies also change; becoming more powerful than before. This game is definitely a challenge even for the most experienced of gamers.

The only negative comment I have about this game is the camera. At points the camera can disrupt your concentration and could mean the difference between life and death. The angles can become obscure and you cannot see any of the enemies. Other than that, there really are no problems with the game.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma is a must by for any Playstation 3 owner. At times it can be challenging but is always satisfying entertainment wise. Every aspect of the game is pushed to the max; the graphics, the missions, everything. Definitely pick this one up even if you played the original. You will not be disappointed.
