Title: Armored Genre: Suspense Starring: Matt Dillon, Jean Reno, Laurence Fishburne, Amaury Nolasco, Milo Ventimiglia, Columbus Short Director: Nimrod Antal Studio: Screen Gems Runtime: 88 minutes In Theatres: December 4, 2009 MPAA Rating: Rating: ( )Grade: C- Being an armored guard is a lot tougher than you would imagine. When transporting millions of dollars, you have to watch out for criminals and having all that money right in front of your face can be very tempting for some. Ty Hackett (Columbus Short) is a novice armored guard who is struggling with taking care of his younger brother and keeping the bank from taking their house. Veteran guards, led by Matt Dillon, Jean Reno, and Laurence Fishburne, are planing a heist of $42 million and want to cut Ty in. Despite needing the cash, Ty is reluctant to go with the although he eventually joins in the plan. Things take a turn when the group shoots a cop who stumbles upon their plan and Ty ends up locking himself in the armored truck with the cash and the cop, waiting it out for help to arrive. Armored started out decent, giving a little background to all the guards and focusing on Ty and Cochrane. It then begins to fall apart as by the time the heist occurs, the movie is practically half way done. With it being less than 90 minutes, it's over quite quickly. Aside from Short, the rest of the cast acts way too old for the film. Dillon, Reno, and Fishburne fail to create any suspense during the film. The cop, played by The biggest breath holder comes from trying to get into the armored vehicle by pounding a railroad spike with a giant metal instrument. With each pound comes a cringe from the audience as it inches closer to the guards' bare hands. Other than that, you're just like, "okay, whatever." By the time the film is over, you don't have any feelings towards either Ty or the rest of the guards. You're left with this empty feeling, wondering what you just watched. Plus, the entire story is utterly ridiculous. Anyone who thinks they can steal millions from their own armored car and get away scot-free is crazy. |

Action Packed
We enjoyed this action packed movie. Sure you knew they wouldn't get away with it but it still was a fun film to watch. Once the action got going, it kept going till the end. Overall we'd give it a B.
All star cast don't deliver
Laurence Fishburn, Matt Dillion, and Columbus Short were the pull getters..the movie didn't deliver. Action..I didn't see it. The movie started off slow..it almost felt like a tease with the introduction of the idea to commit the heist..I mean tell it already. Losing the house..the movie had no substance to me. Oh the one thing I did like about the movie but yet didn't understand..the picture of the owl in the kitchen..GO FIGURE
Didn't like the ending
Armored was a very predictable movie, there were no plot twists or turns. I thought the ending was horrible and left too many other possible ending scenarios up in the air. Acting was okay, nothing great.
It was just OK
I thought that the movie was just OK. With as many all star actors that they had in this movie, I thought that the acting was horrible. They had Larry Fishburne acting like an idiot. He is a much better actor than that. I was really hyped about the movie but was sadly disappointed.
A disappointment..
I saw this movie Thursday.. I must say the previews had me looking for more. The film was short and I thought the storyline while starting out to be interesting lost its way. I thought there should have been some more on character development and little bit more mystery.
Armored
I understood all the reviews (positive and negative) on here. This movie does start out a little slow, but the actions afterward keep me on the edge of my seat the rest of the way. Personally, I think this is one of the most thrilling movies to watch so far this year. This movie is short 1 hr 28 min, but the length is very appropriate for this movie.
Fun movie
Although there are many holes in the story, it's still fun to watch and I was not even bored by the predictable ending.
armored
this movie was too violent for me. There were no redeaming qualities in the story. Lots of car crashes, shootings and foul language.
Armored
Armored was a decent movie. Sure, it did bring some big names to the screen with it, but the enging was a little on the week side. They could have had it better. Plus, some of the action sceens in the move were weak. How many people do you know that can outrun a vehicle? If you want to go see it, you can wait till you see it at a discount theatre. As for those that did not like the violence, and foul launguage, check out the rating before you go. In the previews you see explostions, guns, talk of armed robbery. It does not have a G rating, so expect something offensive to somebody in it.
Armored
For what it was, I thought this was a fun flick. It sort of worked as a morality play as well as an action movie... reminded me just a bit of A Simple Plan. I suspect it will find a bigger audience as a DVD.
