RATING: 3.50 (out of 4.00)

This 8 pack of groove-pushers is not for fans of upbeat ho-slappin’-pimp exploitation style of funk. These guys are more of the lounge grooving kind of goodness. This is the slower material you make love to your old lady by. It’s just thoroughly well performed jazz/funk put out independently by a capable group of guys.

The instruments are dead on, as is the production quality. Only a few of the tracks contain any vocals, but those that do work very well. The Boogie Hustlers have a great, light sound that is difficult to keep from moving your body to. 122 ellsworth has more than enough grooving to make it a worthy purchase. If you like funk sandwiches with some trimmings, this is an album for you.
